Some are pretty mediocre. But there are some good ones with the main cast. The one with Moffat RTD and Tennant is pretty funny. RTD jokes about how its Moffat's turn now to endure the hate from the fandom. Maybe they took up some of the budget doing them for every episode though?

Yes, that's exactly what I did. What kickstarted me into Big Finish was that I watched the Paul McGann movie from the 90's and really enjoyed his portrayal of the Doctor despite the movie being awful, so the next step for more 8th Doctor was Big Finish. I've been really enjoying the Eighth Doctor Adventures series (starts with Blood of the Daleks) and would highly recommend you try it out because it's actually really good.You should get a torrent because it's too expensive to spend all that money blind. It's what I did and now I'm actually even thinking about buying the new War Doctor audios, but for now I'm sticking with getting through the 8th Doctor stuff.
