Best ending you could have for something like Peep Show.
It's been 9 seasons, over 10 years, of these two guys endlessly fucking up, while never truly improving. To have any kind of a happy ending would be going against everything the show established.
If nothing else, this show ended the same way it started: two terrible friends who do nothing but enable one another's misery, while being hopelessly co-dependent.
While I'm sad that another of my favorite series has ended, I'm glad that they didn't betray the spirit of the show, and decided to just end it with Mark and Jez being in the same rut the were in in the first episode.
