The fact that he's so uniformally beloved makes it seem like a creepy circle jerk which is offputting in and of itself. I think the man is an enjoyable actor but when the kids start talking about "BASED KURT" you can picture all of the fedoras tipping.
Same thing with Bruce Campbell and other "trendy to praise" meme actors.
