Just like most people the person writing this article is a retard when it comes to The Village. I don't think Shamalaiyngaindingdog has done any other movie that even comes remotely close to the quality of The Village. I think he's mostly a hack actually which is why the brilliance of The Village is so unexpected and difficult to process. If you watch that movie and think the ending of the movie is a twist then you are a verifiable retard.
But anyway, crap director who somehow made a masterpiece once.
there I screencapped the article
Now no one has to click on OP's link and give it clickbait views.

Fuck OP

In my opinion, the problem is that many people expect Shyamalan to incorporate twists at the end of the movie. The "twist", if we are going to even call it that, is somewhere in the middle when we discover something new about the monsters in the forest. Typically, this shift in the movie would be reserved for the ending in his movies but it isn't an ending and it couldn't have ended there. After that moment, the movie goes in its natural direction. I completely agree with you though.
>>63692280
Agreed 100%
>>63692302
thanks m8
>The Last Airbender above The Fappening.
Is this nigger for real? TLA is a disgrace to cinema.
Obviously the sixth sense tops the chart, but the village should be #2, signs #3
the rest idfc
But his only good and masterpiece is Unbreakable how is it not #1?
>>63692706
I agree, but you have to admit it is better than its source material
#1. The Sixth Sense
#2. Unbreakable
Fuck the rest.

Modern journalism is a complete joke at this point
>>63692216
Why dont we make fun of Shyamalan that hes Indian?
We do it to Master of None guy
>>63692302
without even ranking and just looking at his track record all this says to me is that M Night makes pretty okay movies. some are pretty bad. but the others make up for it.
>>63693192
his incompetence transcends race somehow.
It's like no one can notice what race he is because his movies are so bad.
>>63692302
>the last airbender
I almost forgot that monstrosity. My friends were bored one day and I paid for 3 of us to watch it in 3D which I remember ended up being something insane like $50. And if you weren't paying attention you could completely forget the '3D' aspect of it, which just added to the injury of being such a shitty movie.
>>63692976
I agree, though I would put the village as third.
>>63692302
>anything above Last Airbender
list invalidated
>>63693192
Designated Shitty Movies...? I got nothin'.

He also works with original stories. For most people today, if something didn't originate in a comic book it's instantly trash

>>63693597

>>63693597
prove it reddit. they were fucking aliens
>>63693905
but why would they be weak to water? when they are walking around in it constantly?
>>63694122
it was holy water
>>63694075
What the demons got up to in their private lives should be of no concern to you.
>>63694146
no it wasnt. it was bumpkin tap water with hair and dust particles.
>>63692216
pooinloo
>>63693597
>>63694075
I seem to recall some reddit-born fan theory that submitted that the aliens weren't aliens, but rather demons. The water was in fact holy water, and the whole movie was about Mel's struggle with his faith.
Personally, I think no one should read that deeply into a M Night film, but whatever.
>>63692302
>Unbreakable not #1
Shit list
>>63692302
The Visit should be at the bottom. I haven't walked out on a movie in a long time.
>>63695268
>paying money to go see obvious trash
>>63695268
Just watched it and I agree. I hated everything about it, especially the kids.

>>63695314
you guys are too edgy to live.pls kill yourself now
>>63694246
It turned holy when the family got their faith back you dummy
>>63695457
that theory is too creative for M. Night.
>>63694535
Personally i think no one should care what a redditor like you thinks
>>63695397
>pls kill yourselves because you are edgy
ironic. although im not sure what was edgy about proclaiming a shit movie to beshit
>>63695501that's the twist
>>63695662
totally freaked my mind.
maybe ill go watch after earth
>>63695457
There was an extended part of shamas cameo where mel asks him how he knows the aliens don't like water and shamas character said something like "I don't know for sure. I'm just going by faith" but shamas cut it out because it made it too obvious and because it's just not good dialogue.
>>63692216
His daughter is gorgeous desu.
>>63694535
But the movie absolutely was about his struggle with his faith... That's not even subtext, it's literally his character arc.
>>63694535
That theory preceded reddit. Also, it fits too well to not be the case. I don't see how it couldn't be intentional. The line about learning how to defeat them in the middle east is a give away. If they could be hurt by any water they wouldn't have figured it out in one of the driest places on earth.
