How fucked are you?

Confident, probably a little too confident at first and then it'll all come crumbling down around me.

Also, think I'll watch some Columbo tonight as it's on Netflix. Anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks for reminding me to download this. I completely missed it growing up.

Not very. I'm already in prison.

S02E06 A Stitch in Crime is pretty good
Its refreshing seeing Nimoy play a cocky bastard doctor as opposed to logical alien.

> Columbo threads
It's good to see some taste on /tv/ now and then.

Columbo is an example of how you can have all the modern technology you want to make a TV show but it's the story and the storytelling that count in the end.

They just don't make 'em like they used to.
>>
>>63689398
I think I'll last about an hour, give or take. It's always some mundane detail I fuck up.

Yeah. Could you imagine 1hr 40 minute programs on modern networks? People would change the channel out of ADHD/plebdom. Can't wait for the inevitable reboot tho

I don't like the show Sherlock but I admire it for having a 90min format.

Oh how I wish there could be more. And in the States at that.

peter falk was literally born to play columbo.
also, the guest stars never failed to dazzle.

john cassevetes
jack cassidy
peter culp
martin landau

>>
>A few years prior to his death, Falk had expressed interest in returning to the role. In 2007 he claimed he had chosen a script for one last Columbo episode, "Columbo: Hear No Evil". The script was renamed "Columbo's Last Case". ABC declined the project. In response, producers for the series announced that they were attempting to shop the project to foreign production companies.[19][20] However, Falk was diagnosed with dementia in late 2007.[21] During a 2009 court trial over Falk's care, Dr Stephen Read stated that the actor's condition had deteriorated so badly that Falk could no longer remember playing a character named Columbo, nor could he identify who Columbo was.[21] Falk died on June 23, 2011, aged 83.

Shit, imagine if someone came up to you and said you played Columbo on TV. You watch it and love it. The next day someone comes up to you and says you played Columbo on TV. You watch it and love it. The next day someone comes up to you and says you played Columbo on TV. You watch it and love it. The next day someone comes up to you and says you played Columbo on TV. You watch it and love it. Peter Falk is awesome, and Columbo is a great character, but the show is like sleeping pills for me. I don't think I've ever managed to stay awake for a whole episode.

Just one more thing, has anyone watched A Woman Under the Influence? More Peter Falk greatness.

>he falls asleep every time
>20 years later he gets dementia
>eventually goes to a care home with other old people with dementia
>stop by one day, sign him out, and go out on the town
>watch one of the latest Harry Potter movies (goblet one i think)
>he's wide awake for the entire thing, making comments about the movie and having a great time
>he dies in his sleep the following week

I don't know what meds they had him on that day, but it was the only day in my life it felt like I had a father.

Just one more thing, sir... Earlier, you said that you were aboard a plane on the night of the murder, and you have the flight plan to prove it... and hmm the victim was shot but what doesn't add up is... you see, he was also on the flight plan, using another name... so tell me sir... just an idea, but if the killer was on that plane, why would he shoot the victim instead of simply, oh I don't know, throwing him out of the plane? This has really been bothering me...

If you're on columbo, then matlock realizes you're guilty and risks disbarment to throw your case.

If you're on matlock, then columbo realizes you were framed and helps you find the real killer.

There was one where a woman killed her husband or something. She had a brain tumor, didn't remember it, and was diagnosed by a third party Doctor as having only a few weeks to live. He basically just let her be. Forgot episode name though.

Cellphone and the Internet ruined storytelling really. We haven't adapted our stories to that yet.

Either they ignore them entirely or "My network's not working for some reason!" like in Jurassic World when the I-Rex escapes

Wasn't there once an episode of Matlock where he was defending a guy who ended up being guilty after all? Matlock would defend you but probably end up exposing your fake alibi with his investigation by accident, assuming of course he didn't know you were guilty from the start.
