The test itself isn't the point, it was simply used to illustrate then how little substance female characters had going on back when it was introduced, since movies then had basically everything revolve around the main (male) characters leaving women minor characters with not much going on.
These days a ton of movies, I'd even argue most, past the bechdel test. It means fucking nothing because two women characters can talk about shopping or shoes in such a vapid way and that scene would still count.
