Boyhood on the other hand was beloved by pretty much everyone. For good reason. Innaritu is a hack that is basically on a level with Tarantino so it's no surprise you'd love both of them.
I know it's a meme to hate Tarantino, but Pulp Fiction is one of the best movies ever made, and his first 6 features (7, I guess, if you count KB as 2) were all pretty solid.
Django was an overlong, meandering mess, though, and I'm afraid that without Sally Menke to rein in his self-indulgence, this is going to be more of the same.

I'm not a Tarantino hater by any means but I have no idea how people love Pulp Fiction so much. It's totally fine but it's not even one of his best movies let alone being one of the best of all time. It just oozes cool style and that's really all it's got going for it as far as I can see. A movie like Inglorious Basterds is way, way better.

Tarantino is vastly superior to Inarritu. Even if you dislike Tarantino's films on an aesthetic level, he is one of the most influential filmmakers ever.
Visually, Tarantino may make collage films, but there's a sincerity to them, and the dialogue, which is what most people praise him for, IS original. Inarritu is just Artistic Director #54.

You know, I was only talking about what plebs think of Pulp Fiction and why they like it. I know what critics thought of it, I don't care, I read their reviews before that day and already know why they can like it.
But plebs don't give a fuck about the Palme d'Or, they don't give a fuck about the fact that it paved the road for other directors to do pastiches like Tarantula, they don't know the movies or directors that inspired Pulp Fiction or Quentin, that it wants to be some kind of neo-noir, revived Travolta's and other's careers (they don't know who they are), their mindset is too narrow.
