Movies are rated on basis of their content, but are specific scenes/dialogue still censored from films/tv shows by the united states gubmint?
Like, is there an prganization or group that verifies every new script and then modifies it because of "errors"?
Anything would be helpful.

No. The MPAA is a private company.

Yeah. You have the MPAA to give ratings to every movie, so it's likely that they also check for compromising things.
Filmmakers avoid getting censored or having ratings too "high" (by that, I mean R, NC-17, etc.) because they know their movies will be doubled-checked.

Looks more like a no to me since each recent one was overturned

Then why do they have to get permission?
They must be in bed with the government somehow, right?
For films? No. You can pretty much put anything on film and no one will care but you risk your film getting an NC-17 rating though.
For TV Show? Depends on the channel but somewhat yeah. It just depends what it is.
The MPAA is flawed to hell and give horrible ratings to films. It should just be two ratings. K for kids and A for adults. An adult should be someone who is legal to drive or hold a job which in the US is 16 so by age of 16 you can see A films. Might wanna bump it down to 15 so they can bring in the high school crowd, but nonetheless adding all these ratings is stupid

It has more to do with distribution. If your movie gets rated above an R it's going to suffer because it won't be able to get wide release. Check out This Film is Not Yet Rated for a lot of great information about how the MPAA works and is run.
The MPAA censors films but to use US military equipment and vehicles scenes have to be approved by the military

>Are movies still censored?
> 2015 Censorship Guideline:
1) It's illegal for movies to show any black man committing a crime.
2) Any movie crimes MUST be committed by a white male.
3) If any movie crimes are committed by a nigger, said actions must be blamed on white characters.

Read about the Hays code. American film industry is famous for its self-censorship.
