Hear me out. Guardians of the Galaxy was generic rehashed buddy hero drama. The prequels were shit, but they at least introduced intriguing jedi/sith branches that were exploited by KOTOR.
Dare I say, Lucas can create far deeper universes. He just sucks at translating them into cinema.
But this movie was fucking terrible
The film consistently cheats to save the characters while creating the drama of near-death experiences.
ANH+ESB+ST '09 were all much better. The first 2/3 of Into Darkness was also better.
It's like bunch of studio executives came together to create a Star Wars rip off who never understood the appeal of Star Wars in the first place, so they fail in the process
