I dislike it as well, also

>>63626666
Every movie that's massively popular will have an equal amount of people who hate it, if nothing else then because it's popular.
Wassa matter, not enough shooty shooty for ya?
>>63626666
star wars
not even bait, i was indifferent to it but normies freak out if you say you dont like it or even if you arent interested in it and that just makes me hate it more
I hate anything that caters to plebeian manchildren like Edgar wright, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Mad Max, and capeshit
Eternal Sunshine
>>63626773
I liked it
>>63626743
same
i fuckin HATE star wars
my roommate forced me to watch it once(we had a deal, he had to watch LOTR since the faggot thought its a shit movie and i had to watch SW) and it was literally the first movie in my fuckin life that i fell asleep to
>>63626743
>i was indifferent to it but normies freak out if you say you dont like it or even if you arent interested in it and that just makes me hate it more
I feel you pham
>>63626804
i can understand why others may have liked it but it just didnt work for me
>>63626666
this shit was boring as fuck, i didnt even finish it
>>63626743
Same I was born in '87 and that's too young for the original Star Wars hype and my parents weren't fucking nerds so they never gave a shit either. Didn't see the first movie 'till 2005 so as you can imagine there's no magic there for me. Also Leia is and always has been ugly as fuck.
>>63626863
Worst fucking thing I've ever seen
And I like cutesy American indie shit like little miss sunshine and Wes Anderson
500 days of Summer is an insincere plastic product version of that
>>63626923
>and Wes Anderson
hes actully good tho

i didnt enjoy Fred the Movie
>>63627020
hilarious, reddit
>>63626743
>"Normies" are the ones who get mad at you for not giving a shit about Star Wars now
Who else here is old enough to see how crazy that is? Even in the nineties Star Wars was pretty nerdy, and then into the early naughts if you weren't young people looked at you like you were a dork for caring about that shit. Look at the old Conan videos where he sent Triumph to make fun of the people in line, those people were generally what a big time Star Wars fan was thought of as.
The Shinning. I enjoy all other Kubrick movies but didn't care for this.
>>63626863
I thought the expectations vs. reality scene was good, and the little sister played by whatsherface people here used to jerk off to, the is that a scar girl, were pretty good. Other than that it was trash, specifically the ending.
>>63627058
same
it maybe because ive read the book first, but i enjoy it way more than the movie
>>63627058
The shinning pretty shit mate. It has great visuals but the story and characters are neutered
>>63627056
thats just how it goes
5 years ago every teen wore baggy jeans and anyone with skinny jeans was ridiculed or called gay
now literally everyone wears skinny jeans, even construction workers i see doing roadwork
>>63626907
>Also Leia is and always has been ugly as fuck.
Oh God this. All the fuss over that fucking Bikini is pathetic as fuck
>>63627199
nigger i fuckin hate star wars but it was the fuckin 70s, its not like young boys were seeing stuff like this at all, i understand why they still remember it so fondly
>>63626907
>Also Leia is and always has been ugly as fuck.
This. I don't get it, her face is below average.
>>63627222
>It was the 70's
That I can understand mate but a fuss is still made about it today. Disney won't let anybody reference it in those comics they're making or any of the models
>>63627222
>implying you had to be overstimulated to find her unattractive
Nah, shit was extremely overrated.
>>63627268
>That I can understand mate but a fuss is still made about it today
its just retards that heard the hype from their dads and shit trying to be "hip" today
>>63626666
The Big Lebowski is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I promise you there are tons of people who dont like it. Joyless bastards.
>>63626804

>>63627724

>>63626814
>he had to watch LOTR since the faggot thought its a shit movie
it IS shit you fucking bitch. it has to be a joke. no one can REALLY think lord of the rings and/or the entire trilogy were good in any capacity. theres a thread up right now about why its the best movie and im inclined to believe its just a bunch of jokers having fun but i know its not. people actually think that
>>63627929
>"us contrarians from reddit, amirite xDDD"
>>63626814
Tbqh family member I tried watching both trilogies and couldn't watch a single one for more than half an hour. Then I got bored and googled the rest of Star Wars to finish the story. LOTR I didn't even bother it was way too dorky
>>63628049
>LOTR I didn't even bother it was way too dorky
I watched the OG Star Wars as a kid in the early 90's and thought they were incredibly dated and boring. They aged horribly. I was an adult when the prequels came out and felt too old to enjoy it by then.
>>63627775
>my enjoyment of movies is based on how closely I identify with the characters
:^)
>>63628210

You're a big Lebowski.

>>63627199

>>63626950
yeah but Moonrise Kingdom was total indiemerica cutesy bs and his worst movie
>>63626666
very nice, checked.
Have you watched it twice? First time I watched I tried to follow the plot of the villains (as I love noir films) but it is inconsequential, for me, it went from 5/10 to 8.5/10 on a second watch. If you really didn't like it fair enough, each to their own but if you can watched it a second time I recommend you do, I find the dialogue great, love how they all step on each other’s lines and everything. Also even amongst my small group of friends I know people who dislike it. If I may ask, how do you feel and the Coen bros. in general?
>>63626743
I don't hate Star Wars, but I do agree it's over-hyped as fuck. Although I understand it must have been a big deal back in the 70s.
>>63626863
If there's a manic pixie girl then I'll probably hate it.
Gone Girl
I mean, it was truly shit writing. nothing bad about the directing of Fincher, but the screenplay and the whole plot was utter garbage. I can't understand how anyone besides desperate thirsty housewives could like that lazily written and plothole ridden movie.
The Tree of life
>>63626743
I feel you family. It was probably a big deal in the 70s, my dad loved it btw, and I saw the OT when I was young (another couple of times in my teens) because of him. But I was just indifferent. It was just a campy thing not for me, but tolerable. Episode 4 aged like milk, 5 was good, I only remember the Ewoks from 6. My memory has completely removed anything about the prequels.
Now that normies have found SW, I just hate it. They think it's some kind of hidden gem only for connoisseurs and are so proud to reference it whenever they can, while it's just ok-at-best space adventure to me.
>>63631191
Watched it in cinema, liked it. Never watched it since, don't care enough for it. I know plebs like this film a lot because it makes them feel smart, even though it's straightforward as fuck and pretty easy to follow.
Interstellar
>>63626666
literally any movie that has bill murray in it.
It was boring like all Bergman films I've seen so far. Nice cinematography though.
>>63626743
those films cured my insomnia
>>63631168
this, her entire plan made no sense after she got mugged
>lol i'll pretend to be raped on the cameras even though if the police look at those cameras they'll see me happily walk in the front door a week after i first disappeared!
>fingerprints would have been all over the house
>trailer trash would have certainly sold her out
>shit like the toys in the garage no longer make any sense
like you said it wasn't poorly directed, just poorly written
>>63626804
Fuck off
>>63631443
i've been seeing that bergman opinion fly around way too much, i enjoy his movies, they're not my favorite but it's unfortunate people think this of him.
>>63631443
Bergman has some strong films, but I was underwhelmed by this one.
The characters aren't strong enough to carry an actionless movie by themselves. Visuals weren't extraordinary. Homolust between the two women can only keep me interested for so long.
>>63626666
Never saw the appeal of this movie, but everyone in my highschool was obsessed with it.
>>63626666
>devil quads OP doesn't like big lebowski
seriously, what the fuck
it's a great movie, it's just that it doesn't really have much of a character arc or anything. some stuff just happens but in the end, nothing really changes. just like they say, The Dude Abides, but there's so many cool moments, cool lines, it's just a great time and a phenomenal movie
I feel like most movies I dislike already have a small amount of people to not like them, but the biggest one to me might be The Shining. everyone loves it and thinks it's a masterpiece, when it's so shoddily done. The source material had a cool story, Kubrick fucked it all up in favor of some 'lel muh iconic imagery' and mistreating the cast etc etc by being a pretentious dick (basically being Kubrick).
>>63631622
Saw it once back in 2009 and never thought about watching it again but I have good memeries of it.
Good flick.
>>63631509
>>63631168
Having such a solid direction for a writing that awful made me hate the movie even more.
What a piece of shit, her entire plan is stupid.
>>63626666
I dislike it too. The dude and the cowboy are kind of cool, but the movie sucked balls.
Can we post series too?
>>63626666

Gravity

In Bruges
Goodfellas
Anything made by Pixar
Whiplash is the worst movie I've ever seen.
Mean Girls
>>63627929
It's kind of hard to pinpoint from this why you'd think it's bad.
Personally, I hate all of the Peter Jackson Tolkien adaptations with a passion, but I have to admit, for what they are, they're pretty well made. It's just that they're nowhere near acceptable as adaptations. And even if anyone wants to argue that it's as good as a Tolkien adaptation can be, well I won't argue you, but what is the point of making an adaptation if by your claim one true to the core of the work is impossible?
>>63631315
As in, you hate Bill Murray, or as in you hate movies that have that certain kind of tone that most Bill Murray movies have?
Any of these. The movies I hate most, in which I see zero value and/or made me cringe physically.
Some such as Batman Forever are universally disliked but I didn't want to make another list just to remove them.
>>63632161
you lack life experience.
just take a few years off trying to watch anything meaningful and just watch shit meme horror/action movies for about 10 years. Then you can attempt to watch adult movies again.
either all that or you're just a contrary cunt.

Americans spell favourite "favorite" while British, Canadian, Australian, Irish, New Zealandian(?), Maltan(?) and South African people spell it "favourite".
There's a couple words like this.
Most people don't really care about it, and in fact tend to mix and match on accident because it's not really a big deal.
Anon seem to have some sort of hate for it though, like some other people do, because it represents a ridiculously overdeveloped concept of aristocracy vs. colonists mindset for some people, who still didn't get over the fact that Britain is a different country from them and once was in charge hundreds of years ago.

>>63638350
Can you explain what's good about Amélie or Moonrise Kingdom?
>>63638407
Not the poster you're asking, but if for nothing else, they show a very strong directorial vision, which in many circles, is inherently good. They are also similar in having a magical, colorful world-building.
>>63632419
The trailer was really misleading. The adverts made it seem like it was a black comedy in the vain of treating the events like they're serious. Instead we got "dude Palin lmao black guys white maymay references hahaha." The only good moment in the entire movie is the scene where the two protags watch earth bomb itself.
>>63638048

Boondock Saints. All my friends raved about but I just can't get in to it.
The Dark Knight

Dark Knight was enjoyable dont get me wrong but its not this amazing masterpiece like people claim it is.
>>63631191
I'd love it if I've never seen Paprika or a good heist movie. But I did, so while I enjoyed the movie overall, all the people going NOLAN IS A GENIUS IT'S SO ORIGINAL OMG just pissed me off so much it kinda spoiled the impression. Which is bad because you shouldn't let people get to you like that but that's what happened
>>63640827
>its not this amazing masterpiece like people claim it is.
That's how I feel about Nolan's movies in general
>>63631168
FUCKING GONE GIRL ARGH
Wolf of Wall Street
Cabin in the Woods
>>63640951
Meh, Paprika's influence on Inception is overstated (and I'm glad Nolan didn't try too hard to ape it). He got the whole dream thing idea from somewhere else before Paprika came out, copied a couple of scenes without importance as a homage (that's probably 2 minutes of copy for a 2 hours and a half movie), and that's it.
I do agree though, Nolan's fans are unsufferable. I don't think Nolan himself pretend to be original and deep, the movie is straightforward, anyone with a brain would say so. It's a ok heist movie with a decent concept and nice visuals, but it's not hard to get.
>>63634555
Space Odyssey was good, but certain scenes were way too drawn out.
