beats the end fight in ROTS imo

inb4 plinkett defense force and MUH EMOTIONS

The music was good. It was more of a dance than anything resembling what you'd see in an actual fight using swords.

inb4 "muh choreography"

The prequels were a political intrigue plot and the original was a straight up rebellion adventure romp.

They're both poorly written schlop, but I'm watching the two side by side and right now abd I'm genuinely finding more entertainment to be had in the prequels. They're WAY more fucking indulgent and aimless than the OT, but I think this allows for some better individual moments, such as Ep. I's saber fight, or the giant fucking fish chase, or Ep. II's Obi Wan vs Fett or the trio duking it out with the monsters in the arena.
>>
no, plinkett doesn't like it so its fucking shit
>>
>>63615864

The prequels are only dogshit because AOTC weighs it down. If the film was more about an investigation on assassins and bounty hunters, leading up to the discovery of the clones, and have most of it set in the slummiest parts of Coruscant, then it could have been good. As for the romance subplot, honestlt I think if it were a lot less glamourous and they had to hide in some shithole, and if Anakin actually had some charisma, maybe the experience could have made their bond more believable.

> person A sees movie and has opinion X

I wish they had never made those shitty videos because now you can't have a discussion on the prequels without some retard bringing them up.
>>
>We'll take the long way.
Why? Between two Jedi and a dozen armed troops, I think it might have been a smoother trip if they just rushed Maul.

My favorite is the throe room duel in 6.

Not really. Nobody spoke during the match. That was really lacking in the prequels. The wordplay. It was nice to look at but I wanted Maul to talk some shit to Obi-wan and Qui-Gonn before and during the duel.

Why not make a light saber thats like 3m long and just poke a nigga from range.

Don't forget, they also sent that army they knew was being made under suspicious circumstances involving an assassin working for the opposing side, but trusted anyway.

Remember in Attack of the Clone when Obi-wan told Anakin to go in slowly on the left

That was clever wordplay!

I actually really liked how that one gradually moved from a standard sword fight to a straight up battle with the force. Although it was a bit over the top, it definitely did a good job of highlighting the force at work and their mastery of their respective sides.

ROTJ isn't a prequel
>>
It was cool to see once, Jedi fighting at the height of their skill. It was supposed to be something way beyond anything we'd seen in the OT, and it served that purpose well. It was interesting enough just in how fast and acrobatic it was.

The problem came when the fights in the next two movies didn't build on that or become more story driven, they were just more of the same shit.

Not that anon, but they have a point. This is apparently the way Jedi are supposed to fight. In the OT, you only see an old man, an old crippled man, and a barely trained boy go at it.

It just turns out that the Jedi eschewed the elegance of a kendo-based style to flail around like faggots with glow sticks.
>>
best light saber fight was sheev wrecking like half a dozen jedi knights solo and making stupid faces the entire time

Where's that gif of that scene where they keep spinning the lightsabers not hitting anything?

>I wish they had never made those shitty videos
It was just one guy. And the reason people keep bringing them up is because he brought up a lot of valid points.
>> person A is now longer allowed to have opinion X
Of course they are. It's just that they're more likely to have people disagree with their opinion.

The prequel fights should have made a more comprehensive use of force powers rather than spinning lightsabers around

No. It was done for comedic effect. The audience laughed. I was there. There's even a Jedi force kick in there somewhere. Stop treating Star Wars like it's some goddamn religion.

Being the only fight with any sort of emotional impact, I'd agree. Most of the lightsaber fights in the prequels were just dancing with sticks.

>>
>>63617813
What else were they doing? Were they busy sitting around or walking slowly down CGI corridors? Because that seems to be all they fucking do when they aren't involved in a war
>>

I'm a 14 year old: the post
>>
>>63617775

When the audience laughs during the most anticipated lightsaber duel of all time, something has gone horribly wrong.

>>63615864

It was the best choreographed of the Prequel fights, to be sure. The laser doors were silly, though, and despite being more visually impressive, it lacked for the emotional impact of the OT duels. And there were too many other elements going on in the overall battle.
