People look at it in different perspective though. I think whats different about The Room is how amateur it is. People aren't really exposed to that type of movie typically, so they don't know how bad a movie can really be. That's why despite it probably being the worst thing they ever watched, it's so unique to them and it's so fun to wonder what any of them were thinking, it is looked at in a positive light. Also, the back story to the movie and Tommy Wiseau helps make it even funnier. The thing cost millions to make despite what the end product looks like.

There was this Sci-fi original that was basically a knockoff of Core.
There's a scene in it where an earthquake creates terrible cgi cracks in the ground and because they ran out of budget, they couldn't afford to show the characters jumping over said cgi cracks so they filmed the actors from the waist up hopping around like they were jumping over the cracks.
