Where can I watch Eisenstein and Brakhage flicks? Where do you guys watch them?
I'd like to watch some films that illustrate what film can do as art. You know a good director I can watch ?
PTP, KG

Honestly apprehensive about fucking up my laptop.

Both are terrible.

art = entertainment
art is literally not assuming one's hedonism. pathetic.
I rented mine from my university's film collection and also I they have their own streaming "client" of watching stuff.
Also there's PTP and CG (I don't have KG).

Fuck off.

Never understood what this is for if you don't like watching bad movies ironically.

You can buy some of the DVDs or rent them from your library. Also, Eisenstein shows up on TCM like every 5 years. He's extremely underplayed on TV desu.

or learn what private trackers are in the first place

Torrent sites have some of their stuff. I know some of Eisenstein's stuff has been released in HD format. Brakhage has two big anthologies released on blu ray. So... either buy them, rent them, check them out from the library, or torrent them.

I thought I should use brevity being that /tv/'s such a dang fast board. I used the words I used because they illicit the meanings I intended.

don't bother trying to get into any of the directors you've mentioned
you're more suited to watching kubrick on repeat

I'm onna look into it.

Is this both of them?

Did Stan Brakhage ever take a shit on film? As in he took some feces and smeared it on celluloid, not filmed himself defecating?
Honestly don't waste your time with Brakhage. He only has 1 or 2 shorts worth watching.

Really? This article made him seem like he made art worth looking into, (it's what made me want to get into him in the first place):

> So, the leader comes through, the room's heated up, on comes Dog Star Man, Part IV. He starts exploding in Russian the minute the hand painted frames are flickering on the screen, along with the layers of superimposition. He's obviously raging! No one's heard him talk so much since he's been here. He's hammering away in incredibly rapid Russian.
>He ran, in the course of an hour and a half, through every argument against my work and any other individual's work that I have ever heard, from the Emperor's New Clothes argument through this-is-too-rapid-it-hurts-the-eyes, through "this is sheer self-indulgence," to "film is only a collaborative art." And in detail, "the color is shit" and "what is this paint? Why do you do this?"

They have one of the largest collections of straight up hard core art film I've seen on the web.
Go nuts (I mean literally cus if you start going through that you will).

It has more than bad movies, and B movies can be good.

> Library's a great idea
Yeah. It is a great place for saving money, especially on movies you will not want to spend money on. You can order them online and have them brought to your library from other libraries in your area. Also, obscure stuff and artsier/older stuff (Criterion, for example) is seldom rented out and you will get them soon after requesting them.
>>63589359
Yes I believe so. Criterion just did two sets so far and the quality of all the material is great. Enjoy.
Check out Jean Painleve's collection on Criterion too.
