It's a fucking movie about giant robots fighting giant monsters! They use a fucking ship as a sword at one point! Excuse me if I just wanted to enjoy a film for its good parts and try to ignore the bad parts rather than ruin the experience I paid for by picking apart every scene.

The strain of piloting the robot by yourself mentally was too much for one pilot. Two were needed to share the stress it causes
