The Message is a very good hollywood movie about the birth of islam. it was directed by a muslim and complies with the sensitivities about depictions of Muhammad and his family in unique ways.
there are a lot of very talented iranian directors the most spiritual of which may be majid majidi. his "children of heaven" is one of the best children's films of all time and was nominated for best foreign picture.
