I came here to post this and this is probably the first time I've seen people I agree with on the subject. Baneposting was fun but it destroyed /tv/ by turning into a meme-factory for newfaggots. I was there to witness the birth of Baneposting and the birth of Just. One was confusing but funny as hell and thanks to the determination of one autist became coded into the DNA of this site. The other was a disgusting abomination so forced that I could practically hear the 12 year old's giggling.
Bane/Driveposting are the only memes that really feel like /tv/. The rest is just general faggotry that happened to begin here.
Every board on 4chan thinks they're a meme factory, when really many of the memes come from off site and are popularized on 4chan before later being adopted by reddit and eventually Facebook.

I mean, it seemed like we became so desperate to ride that wave of meme creation. /tv/ was finally notable for something, that was the biggest thing Baneposting did. Before Baneposting, /tv/ was kind of like /lit/ or /mu/ in that everyone was really pretentious, but you'd still get discussion. Now, for how much we diss reddit, we have become reddit.
