I literally hate "case solving" shows. You know the type, House/Bones/All CSI and the likes. So when I saw what this show was about, a "zombie" girl solving cases? Literally into the trash it went.
But as an act of despair, I downloaded and watched the first episode because I had nothing else to watch. And I can honestly say I was surprised. Just got done getting up to date with it (season 2, episode 9) and I'm pretty sure I'll keep watching. I think the main protagonist is really good, she has to pull off all of these different personalities each episode and she does it all fine.

I like GOAT tv like sopranos/mad men/wire, etc like anyone else, this isn't that but it is solid and fun. Good cast, Rose is great at playing a different role literally every episode, main storylines pretty cool.

i'm mid season 2. i'm interested in the main zombie story but the side-crime stories every episode bore the living shit out of me. it's a chore for me watching most episodes for this reason.

Like I always say when people ask me for an opinion on a show I like: "it's not for everyone". I do hate case solving shows and the case solving parts can be a little tiresome like >>63559490 mentioned.
The main zombie story arc is actually quite interesting. The case solving parts I find fun because of the main character getting her personality altered each episode. And the dynamics between all characters are interesting as well.
I don't know man, give a try or something. I literally skipped a game of League of Legends to watch the first episode and got hooked.

The first episode is a little weak like the other anon said. It really just establishes all the characters and their relationships with each other, and gives the viewer an idea of the show's procedural format.
But with episode 2, the series starts to really pick up with the introduction of Blaine and the zombie infection backstory in general. If you don't feel interested in it after ep 2, it may not be the show for you. But I find it a hell of a lot of fun.
