Spooky. Did Roger Ebert see a glimpse of the truth of reality before die?
>The week before Roger passed away, I would see him and he would talk about having visited this other place. I thought he was hallucinating. I thought they were giving him too much medication. But the day before he passed away, he wrote me a note that said: "This is all an elaborate hoax"
>According to his wife, she asked Roger, “What’s a hoax?” looking for some clarification. “he was talking about this world, this place. He said it was all an illusion. I thought he was confused. But he was not confused.”

>spend your life watching movies
>on your death bed forget that we all saw the truman show
unfortunate desu
Hearing about his death was pretty jaw-dropping. Hard to believe he passed.
>He said it was all an illusion. I thought he was just confused. But he was not confused. He wasn't visiting heaven, not the way we think of heaven. He described it as a vastness that you can't even imagine. It was a place where the past, present, and future were happening all at once.”
damn

Man, you don't understand. The dude's death left a debilitating hole in the reviewer world.
>>63556706
He dumbed down film criticism
>>63556706
Documentary I watched over him changed my view a tad. He was ok.
I was overjoyed when I heard on /tv/ that this charlatan had finally died, but I was also saddened by the fact that he hadn't suffered that much before deciding that he could insult film criticism no longer. The pain and suffering that he went through is only a fraction of the evil that he inflicted on the millions of cinematically illiterate teenagers. When I found out that the old fart had finally decided to not assault the public with his adolescent approach to art, I pulled off the framed picture of Armond White from my wall, kissed it reverently, and immediately embarked on a Korine marathon. Good riddance, you jawless hack.

His reviews gave structure to an otherwise flabby shapeless world of art-viewing.
>>63556844
Naw, you're just a fuccboi/fanboi

You guys need to learn to take things on the chin.

>>63557222
We are the demiurge though, thats the whole point. were on a prison planet , within a prison universe
>>63557183
Neither could Roger.
>>63557163
Shakespearean plays have 5 acts, with 3 being the climax or point of no return. I.E Romeo and Juliet getting secretly married or Antonio's merchant ships not returning
>>63556617
Is this real? Can you provide a link?
>>63556545
>not thinking the world adds up to a lie and an "illusion" by the time you're like 20 years old
This is a very basic idea m8 it's nothing to be impressed about.
>>63556706
Reviewers aren't worth shit, they're just people who landed a hobby as a job and nothing they say means anything.
>>63556617
Time is a flat circle desu
I would go crazy too if the last movie I got to watch before dying was a shitty Malick movie.
>>63558387

>implying Ebert wasn't a Korine fan
>>63558313
All circles are flat.
>>63557411
The demiurge committed suicide. That's what the Big Bang was.
>>63556617
How could he know the past isn't the present or the future isn't the current?
Didn't sound like he was confirming Christianity so he probably did see the truth.
>>63556617
So he just made an Out-Of-Body experience
>Hurr le mystical dying last words durr
