Am I crazy, or is the BBC firing Top Gear the best possible thing that could have happened?

The scripting was getting to be too much, they were relying too heavily on lens filters, and firing them likely pissed the presenters off, giving them an incentive to come back swinging.

I have a good feeling about whats to come.

Also worst decision BBC has made in a very long time. Now all theyve got is faltering episodes of Sherlock.

top gear was for reddit plebs, sorry m8

The obviously scripted "jokes" were really letting the newest seasons down.

The wacky challenges were still good

Honestly, this is reddit: the show

I'm incredibly excited, and as far as I know, all BBC owns is the segment names and The Stig. In a perfect world, they would focus more on challenges, but it says a lot that May and Hammond followed him. 225 million a year is a lot to lose for the BBC. NOBODY is going to watch the BBC version.

Regular Car Reviews is great if you know absolutely nothing about cars

The funniest thing about plebs like you is calling your sacred cows "reddit" and watching you throw a paddy.

Top Gear is a shit sitcom with no jokes.

Way too early to say, the good thing about BBC was they weren't beholden to advertisers. They could just drive what they wanted and shit all over what they wanted. The production values were very good too.

That's different now
>>
>>63531912
If you didn't care, why'd you reply?

>it's another boring challenge set to the dark knight theme music
>it's another "disaster" scripted and rehearsed twenty times
>it's the same three bantz over and over again

Amazon is a subscription based service. They aren't beholden to advertisers.
>>
>>63532243
...

Product placement, sponsored segments, companies paying for their dime a dozen cars to be reviewed favourably... Just because Amazon is subscription based doesn't mean they're going to refuse money.
>>
>>63532243
Yeah and I totally believe that when watching House of Cards on Netflix with the Sony shit thrown in my face every 5 seconds.

Streaming services have partners and advertisers still. Especially Amazon who's main income comes from selling products from other companies
