the Jedi have super powers, they're not just guys in robes with flashy swords - maybe on paper they look that way from most of the fight scenes in every film so far, and Lucas's very poor fleshing out of what they were or at least should've been in my eyes.
When Jedi fight they can literally see into the future, and have insane intuition, the whole "midichlorian" addition in episode one and the often overlooked deal with Anakin being the only human with the reactions and implied foresight/planning to compete in the faced pace pod races just proves that

I think the thing about the prequels and star wars in general is that you have to accept that anakin and obi wan are RIDICULOUSLY powerful at the end of ep3
Star wars makes a lot more sense if it's not really easy to block lasers for every jedi. This explains how jango killed that jedi in ep2 and faced obi wan without dying. It also explains how palpatine literally slaughtered every jedi that wasn't mace windu in like 2 seconds if we take it that the average jedi is relatively shit
And this also explains why they don't just use an army of jedis to win decisive battles and how order 66 was so effective

Seeing as Obi is supposedly an elite tier Jedi, they should have had Obi force block Anakins jump.
Anikins power should have been high enough to clear Obi quite easily, making his claims true. What would have made the scene epic is no having Obi Wan supposedly underestimate Anakins power, but having Anikin vastly underestimate Obi's actual power in his supreme arrogance. By only falling short he didn't highlight Obi having any amazing before unseen power, it only shows he wasn't as powerful as claimed.
As it stands it was Anikins fault he got cleaved because his power wasn't strong enough. Obi just stood there, not really an interesting parallel. Would have been better if Anakins new found Dark Side powerlevel did boost his stats to before unseen levels, but what he failed to remember is he was there to balance the force. His newfound power unbalanced the force, meaning Obi intrinsically became more powerful to balance out the force.
