Years before it moved to the Women's network it was on regular TV channels in the late 80s/early 90s. They didn't do the sex toy review back then but they still had these fucking amazing people call in.

They relaunched it in America on the Oxygen network so Americans could finally call in. It ran until 2008.

NBC forced Ruth to answer letters that listeners sent in and screen the sex questions to make them mostly PG. having a producer censor a question before a sex therapist answers it kind of defeats the purpose.
This is why Sue Johnson was so successful. Canada had much less restrictive broadcast standards in the early 80s (City TV aired actual uncensored softcore porn films late at night). They could actually do a live call in sex show.
