>Landis should have gone to jail, he was notorious for taking needless risks with other people's lives for the sake of over-the-top stunts, Morrow was even considering leaving the film because of his recklessness and discussed it with his lawyer, unfortunately he decided to stay because he was afraid he'd be blacklisted in Hollywood if he did. An example of Landis's callousness can be seen in the scene where Morrow in hiding in the water from US soldiers and ducks just in time to avoid gunfire as it hits the vegetation behind him. Originally that stunt used a machine that fired marbles to simulate gunfire hitting the plants, but Landis didn't think it looked good enough, and instead made Morrow duck REAL shotgun fire aimed at his head. Nice guy huh?. Remember that next time you see one of his sanctimonious grandstands he likes to do either in person or by proxies in his movies.
