Why is this movie called 'TRON' and not 'FLYNN'?
Because it's supposed to sound futuristic. It was the 80s.

using the word "TRON" in your product was common in the 1980's. Think Jumbotron, Trinitron, Mellotron, not to mention the tron command in Basic.

TRON makes sense for the first movie.
Having TRON in the sequel's title made no sense. Tron is a zombified bad guy who barely is in the movie and shrouded by a helmet so we can't see his face.
Sequel really should have been called FLYNN. If not that then CLU even if he's the bad guy.
