Considering a lightsaber can make a 4 foot blade in a foot long handle I figure only the tip would matter. If the stick is cut lower it's still effective. Maybe the blade even pops off for close quarters fighting.

Not him but how would the Jedi know which projectile was shot? Force can't block laser, and saber can't block spread/lead(lead would melt and fling molten metal into jesus face). So solution is carry one of each gun and alternate fire

I don't see a problem with combined fire from multiple mooks, armed with blasters and/or shotguns, dropping a jedi. Multiple clone troopers are seen slaughtering jedi with mass blaster fire. That's not the issue.
