I've seen series 10 episode 1. Here are some teasers:
*The new companion is a twentysomething Indian girl. Not conventionally attractive due to a certain "disability".
*Her and the Doctor don't get on initially. They have to work together because of circumstances in the first episode. She ends up with a begrudging respect for the Doctor because of something he does -- expect lots of mini arguments throughout the series.

I thought that Fear Her was the most boring episode of the season and that The Idiot's Lantern was unimaginative and tedious even for a Gatiss episode, fair enough if you didn't feel that way.

For the love of God, would you people stop meming and explain exactly why Series 9 was so shit all of a sudden when a week or two ago you people were praising it. As far as I'm concerned, the only disappointing episodes were the Ashildr ones and Sleep No More, and even then, they were just average Doctor Who eps. The rest were either a over average (Face the Raven, Hell Bent, Under the Lake), or great (Heaven Sent, Zygon Inversion).
What people seem to be complained about is how Hell Bent doesn't focus on the Hybird and the Time Lords, even though it's been hyped up all season and Gallifrey is back. Well look at it this way.... That wasn't the Doctor's concern. That was your concern. The Doctor just wanted to save Clara after the shit he went through in the Confession Dial.
The Hybird is still coming back, and so are the Time Lords and we're gonna have a fun old regeneration episode for Capaldi with Clara and Me returning and taking on the real Hybird. It's how it always happens.
Or are all of you upset that Clara didn't die in Face the Raven? Well two things: she did, and her ending in Hell Bent was much more fitting for her character. It was an allegory for how, since you first met her in Asylum of the Daleks, she has been on the verge of death. Now, she can ironically escape that for as long as she wants.
Wanna know what CAN ruin this dynamic? Clara's heart starts beating again. Then her character arc will forever go to shit.

Literally wrong. This was supposed to be Moffat's last series until they asked him to do Series 10 at some point between Hell Bent and Husbands filming. Hell Bent was supposed to leave things as they were, no hybrid, no Time Lords. Moffat doesn't have a backup plan and won't come back to that ever again.

The Hybrid is never going to be mentioned again. They dismiss it as inaccurate prophecy wank, and its only thematic purpose was to parallel the dangerous obsessive relationship of 12 and Clara (oh and for 2 seconds play with the idea of the Doctor being half human because why not).

The reason the scene cuts away from what she tells him is because the Doctor is telling the story to Clara in the Diner and he can't remember what she said then. But her theme plays over the cut away, and the Doctor wrote that theme, which is about all he can 'remember' of Clara. The song is the only essence of Clara that he can grasp. When she hears the song at the very end she says maybe memories (his memories of her that he's forgotten, one of which he specifically says is what she told him in the Cloisters) become songs, in this case Clara's song.
Whatever Clara said it wasn't Run you clever boy and be a Doctor, because that makes no sense in context. She tells him in the Cloisters that people like them need to say things to each other right after finding out he went through 4.5 billion years of torture so that he could have a bargaining chip in an effort to save her. That's how much he cares for her. She wants to says something to him in response to that. Then after whatever she tells him they continue with his plan of running away even though Clara already had some doubts about it. If she had told him he needed to be a Doctor there she wouldn't still be going along with his crazy plan of saving her against the laws of time. That's not a Doctor thing to do, it breaks his rules.
When she leaves him the final message on the blackboard at the end it's a reminder for him now that's he's back on the Doctor path. And it's important but somewhat impersonal because he doesn't have a memory of her. What she says to him that we never find out was personal.
