I watch a lot of new movies on VHS. My dad copies all the DVDs he buys onto tapes and then gives them to me to watch them since he is really autistic about his discs getting scratched and doesn't let anybody else handle them.

Pretty much any old slasher is best on VHS in my opinion, watched the original Nightmare on elm street on VHS and it looked and sounded alot better then the DVD version, shittier quality makes those movies more enjoyable
Daily reminder VHS has traces of the original movie due the analog nature of the transfer (chem/light/chem). Youre watching dat original celluloid sweetness by proxy and your brain catches that info unconsciously.
Compare that to the software softened, upscaled, DVD bullshit.
