Watching all those Jedi getting killed without ever even realizing why all because of one selfish bastard trillions of miles away really got to me as a kid. Especially since I'd seen them get a lot of screentime in the animated series (the 2d one, not the newer one with the alien girl).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCuUIkEtJjo

>tfw I'm young enough that I watched the Star Wars movies in "chronological" order (I-VI) and actually thought they killed Obi-Wan for a second
>>
I hate the prequels but...

the headcanon I made for Ki Adi Mundi made this scene very hard to stomach.

Same with plo koon.
>>

fuck you snape
>>
>>63414457
The "worst" was Aayla because of her shitty flail death. Even as a kid I hated how stupid it looked. It looked like she started going down before even giving shot.

But yeah, I agree OP. That moment of Ki-Adi charging in like a boss with his troops and then suddenly slowing down when they don't follow his lead.
>>
They deserved it.
Fucking traitors to the republic.

Long live the emperor.
>>
>>63416526
>the headcanon I made for Ki Adi Mundi made this scene very hard to stomach.

You don't even need the headcanon. In canon, he was one of the only Jedi allowed to have a wife and kids (because his species' population was so low). So he's got a whole family back home who will never see him again.
>>
>>63416568

welp.

>>

>The "worst" was Aayla because of her shitty flail death. Even as a kid I hated how stupid it looked. It looked like she started going down before even giving shot.

I always thought she was trying to survive by falling quickly, only taking one or two shots, and then waiting for them to leave. But they just kept shooting...
>>
Plo koon was my favorite character in Jedi Power Battles. Seeing him go down without a fight bothered my autism
>>
>He blocks two shots before dying

This is the caliber of Jedi allowed on the fucking council?
>>
>>63416571

his heart is in his head.

Just a random factoid.
>>
>>63416537
But getting killed was apart of his plan.
>>
>>63416619
>This is the caliber of Jedi allowed on the fucking council?

He's got literally dozens of clones shooting at him from close range though. Doesn't matter how fast he is, there's no way to block that. That's why the clones were able to kill all the Jedi in the temple so easily, they outnumbered them 100 to 1.
>>
>>63416659

Yes, but nobody knew that when it happened. It was a huge shock to anyone not reading the books. Was a pretty big shock for book readers, too. Dumbledore was literally the last character I expected to die.
>>
>>63416619
When you got 6 buggers spamming machine guns at you, you are fucked without a shield.
>>
>>63414457
>I can't believe these mindless identical human drones programmed to follow orders without question are following orders wow we really should've called foul on that order 66 thing oh well
>>
>>63416617
Yeah, I wish all the jedi death scenes had been as good as Mundi. If I remember right, he was the only one who actually took down any troopers before dying.

Also do we know what happened to Shaak Ti now?
>>
>Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Anakin in episodes 1&2
>Deflect ever blaster fired at them
>Murder hundreds of robots at a time without ever getting hit

I'm pretty sure all those jedi could make short work of the clones if they bothered.
>>
>>63416725
Yeah okay, to the new viewers and to the characters it was a shocking betrayel, thats why you finish the story to get the whole picture.
Also you kinda already knew Snape was going to have to do something due to the promise he was goaded into making to malfoys mom.

It doesn't matter because it only took a few shots for him to fuck up. Had it been all those stormtroopers firing on him at once it would have made sense. But it played out like there was just one guy shooting him. It's just really poorly done.

This scene really got to me as a kid.

You can see how hurt he is by the betrayal of his friends, his battle-buddies. He isn't angry, he isn't frightened, he isn't really even confused, he's just sad.

He can't even bring himself to kill them; he probably could've gone on the offensive and wiped them out or just thrown them off the bridge with a force push but he can't do that to his friends; he only tries to defend himself.

RIP conehead u were a real nigga
>>
In all honesty guys that little kid taking a half step back when Anakin turns on his lightsaber was probably the most convincing acting out of the entirety of the prequels movies.

It was such a fucking good flinch, it's still tears me up whenever I see it.

How does it feel, anon? Before the prequels even came out I knew that Obi-Wan would live, Vader was Anakin and Palpatine was Sidious/The Emperor. I envy you, in a way, growing up with the PT and not feeling that they killed the spirit of the original. You feel that way now, of course, jaded by /tv/ and common sense, but your childhood SW experience went fairly untarnished, compared to us fossils who exited the cinema feeling betrayed.

"I hesitated for a moment when I received Order 66 because the last thing I expected was a Jedi coup. Did I feel betrayed? You bet I did. I thought of all my men who died under Ki-Adi-Mundi's command, and if I'd known then that he and his buddies were gearing up to do the Separatists' work for them and overthrow the government, I'd have shot him as a traitor a lot earlier. He betrayed the trust of every one of us."
―CC-1138(Commanda Bacara)
>>
>>63417656

I didn't even realize how bad the prequels were at first because I was so young. No feeling of betrayal or disappointment, just "wow, the little kid is flying a spaceship, awesome!". Had no clue that Obi-Wan was guaranteed to survive or that Anakin would turn evil. I knew about Darth Vader, but I thought he was a new character that would be introduced in Episode III, the way Darth Maul was in Episode I. I always knew something was up with Palpatine because he was an old man who wore black and had a British accent.

I actually originally felt like Episode IV was a bit of a let-down, honestly, didn't appreciate it until later on. Loved Episode V and VI, but of course the "Luke, I am your father" thing wasn't much of a twist. Neither was Leia being Luke's sister.

>Griffin Picciani, 14, doesn’t feel like a millennial. The New York City teenager looks at his early-20s cousins and easily recognizes the differences between his teenage years and theirs. Griffin only knows a black president. The video games he plays are miles away from the 8-bit consoles his cousins can remember. And perhaps most important, he and his friends can’t remember a time before Instagram and Snapchat.

>“My age group has grown up with all of this social media at a much younger age,” Griffin says. “I think that’s given us a different perspective.”

>Griffin is part of a generation that hasn’t been fully defined but appears to break from millennials—and one that doesn’t yet have a widely accepted name. MTV is looking to change that, and the network will announce a new name Wednesday: the Founders.

>MTV President Sean Atkins says the name acknowledges that while millennials have disrupted society, it’s this new generation’s job to rebuild it. “They have this self-awareness that systems have been broken,” he told TIME ahead of the announcement. “But they can’t be the generation that says we’ll break it even more.”

http://time.com/4130679/millennials-mtv-generation/?xid=time_socialflow_facebook

I was born on 1997. I have a vague memory of 9/11 and I was born into a household that had VHS tapes, Pokemon gens 1-3, Surge cans, and the Toonami Deep space Bass CD. We turned from dirt poor into higher middle class as I got older. I have no problem actually going to work and earning my money. My brother was born in 2000 and definitely is Gen Z, literally doing nothing but play minecraft.

I honestly don't consider myself to be Gen Z (fuck those stupid marketers), but rather the ass-end of the Millennials. Or at the very least, I'm in-between both generations.

The litmus test for being a millennial should be: do you remember 9/11?

First version had Anakin appear at some point during the fight, Windu breaking Sheevs saber and Sheev just taking Anakins. Lucas scrapped that idea because it would make more sense for Anakin to go to Sheevs aid when he only sees him being mugged by a nigger next to a broken window compared to Sheev jumping around ARRRRRUUUGGAAA and then being like "I am so weeeeaaakkk..."

Some of Hasbros actionfigures of Palpatine came with anakin lightsabers because of this as well.

I watched the originals when I was really young and enjoyed them to an extent, but I was a bit too young for them so most of the plot went past me. Same situation when Episode 1 came out; I understood the basic plot but none of the politics. Episode 2 was when I really got super interested and then went back to watch all the others again with a better understanding.

>“My age group has grown up with all of this social media at a much younger age,” Griffin says. “I think that’s given us a different perspective.”

Yes, less privacy, less actual interaction while caring more about social status, information overload, somehow not being able to google something while growing up with free internet everywhere, cartoons that are made with 20 something women in mind instead of them. Amazing Perspective.
