Watched The Court Jester last night on TMC. First, the women are hot (Angela Lansbury included - this is 1955), but my question is: what's the modern day equivalent of Technicolor? That weird blue color modern movies seem to have or would it be something like CG in general?

Nothing
Back in the 70s Hollywood decided that films should look as shitty as possible

I dunno what you mean when you say modern equivalent of technicolor, also which format do you mean 3-Strip or IB printing?
But as for that weird blue, that started with "Digital Intermediates" and I can't fucking explain it, I think every color grader in Hollywood must be color blind and can only see Red and Blue or something. Maybe they're retinas are fried in the same way Audio engineers are all deaf, hence the "compression wars"

Thats bullshit. American New Wave captured more than just fine cinematography. It captured an era.

It still looked awful.
Angela Lansbury was hotter than shit when she was young.

>implying Manchurian Canidate isn't hottest lansbury
what a queen Bitch
I wonder why no hip director doesn't bring back technicolor.
seems like something nolan/tarantino/scoreses would do
(not that I would put Marty on the same list as the other two...just seems like something he would do)

got a nice rack in Technicolor

Cinematographers hate stuff like 3-Strip even more than 70mm, it just makes things so much more cumbersome to shoot. They'll always talk their directors out of it with the argument: "we can just grade it in post so it LOOKS technicolor"

Wasn't the Pai Mei scene in Kill Bill 2 in technicolor?
