i don't think it was expensive at first when they were just dealing with apophis, for which case they had a dozen snake helmets, or occasionally heru'ur for which they could reuse the falcon helmets because he was Ra's son. but later on they never bothered to adapt this scheme to other system lords (and it wouldn't have really worked either, because this animal head thing doesn't even work for all egyptian gods, never mind all the others they introduced)

I can’t believe anyone would actually want to see this. The Stargate film is, by far, the weakest aspect of the franchise (other than the cartoon). All three TV series were FAR superior to that weakly written and directed movie. Start at the start. There are a few mediocre episodes in s1 but after that it's all good.
