Dark Horse is good. It continues the story of Selma Blair's character from Storytelling but you don't have to see that one.
Wait, is Bill about to rape the little kid?
Remember it's a comedy, nervous laughter is good.

It's edgy tripe.
Truly Hoffman's greatest performance.

It instantly became one of my favorites. I was already aware of its cutting edginess before even watching it so I wasnt shocked by the content. What I didnt expect was the human and warm approach to these weird and morally reprehensible characters and the director not only embraces (and often satirizes) them but he also paints them as normal day-to-day people instead of demonizing them for their social anomalies and flaws, like many other audience-friendly directors would do.
I laughed more than I expected, and about everything depicted in it is relatable and true if you actually know these sort of people irl. I am kind of a freak as well so this film makes me feel oddly confortable.

This and Welcome to the Dollhouse are Solondz best, Happiness being a masterpiece. I am not very fond of his recent work though.
