Drive is fine, its not great but i wouldn't say its good either. It's fine, but the script is lacking and The Notebook is really lazy in his role. I get the feeling like he couldn't figure out his character or get into his character. Thief is good for what it is. I don't think you can draw a direct comparison between the films in a which one is better comparison.

I never really saw the connection, Driver with Ryan O'Neill is more obvious. The opening scene in drive is so heavily inspired by that Heist scene in Driver that you can't miss it.
