Uncanny valley.

Nothing. Tintin is what Crystal Skull should have been. It's a insane rollercoster, full of filmmanking ideas, transition, camera moves. Tintin feels and looks like it was directed by a furious prime Spielberg. Cut one or two goofy jokes and you have the best adventure movie in a long, long time.

Please. Peter Jackson's one and only good film is The Frighteners.

How can a director direct an animated film? Does he just stand over the animators shoulder and annoy them.

It's not the animators who decide how the shots are going to look (except, well, for the modelisation). All the director work is almost the same both during pre-prod and "filming". If Spielberg wants a shot to look a certain way, the animators have to follow the instructions. So, yeah. He does stand over the animators and annoy them. And don't forget Tintin is in performance capture. A lot of scenes where actually filmed before or during the animation process.

That not uncanny valley.. If you can't tell that the characters aren't real, you must be the top autist.

The uncanny valley is when you something looks real, but something is off. And the technology isn't there yet.

Tintin looked like a cartoon from the start.

Too much action. Also, Haddock too buffoonish and TinTin too faggoty. It didn't manage to capture the comics' atmosphere - granted, that would have been hard to do anyway.

I'm kinda starting to dislike Jackson by the way. Perhaps he got way too much uplift after the LOTR.
>>
What's the point of make it a 3D animated movie when they hire real actors to do motion capture and tried to make it loo realistic?
Why not just shoot it live action?
>>
>>63305236
>Uncanny valley.

Are you retarded? They succesfully escaped the uncanny valley by going for a non-realistic look.
>>
>>63311266
3D movies make allot of money in theaters.

I remember going to see Airbender in 3D and realized how I got jew'd by paying allot for shitty 3D.
>>
Okay, what's up with everyone talking about Peter Jackson ? Is it too hard to read "directed by Steven Spielberg" during the end credits or what ?

Jackson never had the chance to direct Tintin's sequel, even if it was the original plan. I don't even know if the project is still going. But The Secret of the Unicorn is a Spielberg movie.

Loved this film and looking forward to the sequel. I thought I would hate the realistic yet stylised CG but I actually fucking love it. Daniel craig's villain was great too.

Not much. It was a good adventure film, but it didn't have that Tintin-feeling.

Too much Hollywood and not enough adherence to the mood of the source material

This scene kind of encapsulates my problem with it. There is absolutely no sense of danger or injury. The entire thing is a city sized rube goldberg machine that gets increasingly unrealistic and stupid.

It's one of the most inventive Spielberg productions to date, and an effective capsule containing his cinematic influences and general style, all packaged just for kids.

Why else would the Jew King of Hollywood choose Nickelodeon as it's primary production studio?
