Its not bait you capeshit or imdbshit or reviewshit
The movie has one of the most interesting tones of any movie. It's suspenseful for the entire film and has a lot of stunning visuals. It's a great film.
aged like fine milk

>Do not be afraid. 99 will die.
>>63275119
I've only seen it once but I think I was too blown away by the visuals to appreciate the music. Just listening to the intro now and it's really really good.
This is legitimately in the top 10 objectively best films ever made, yet I've only seen it mentioned around here like 2 times.
Fuck this pleb Earth.
>>63275534
its beautiful. ignoring all the subtle shots like youre posting the ones that really stood out to me were the mothman sized hole in that huge building and the river filled with christmas toys
You sold me on it, OP. Downloading it right now. I remember watching it when I was much younger. It left me with a really uneasy feeling, but I don't remember anything about the plot, except it involved some spooky messages or something.
>>63275558
I'm downloading it right now. Hope it's good.
>>63275565
Even that is shot in an interesting way. The camera is inside the building looking out at Richard Gere with the edges of the hole in frame then the camera rushes out at him. Then it's shown from Gere's perspective and they fade in a picture of an orderly at his wife's hospital. It's so unsettling.

I hope you'll like it. Just don't watch it with those people who keep asking who's who. Oh and it starts of kinda slow, but don't get discouraged.
Here's the trailer if anyone else is interested.

My brother watched this movie when he was really young and it was the only thing he could talk about before going into ICU with cancer and slipping into a coma :(
>>63275737
theres some fantastic transitions and shit
>>63274768
Watched it for the first time a few weeks ago, nice atmosphere, decent idea, poor execution.
>>63275692
Cozy as fuck man. That town looks like small town cozy^10.
>>63275764

>>63275760
Sorry to hear that mate. I hope your brother didnt suffer for long. Im glad he appreciated this movie. He sounds like a cool guy with a good taste in film.
>>63275098

>>63274768
I watched that in pitch black at 3am.
I'm not easily scared but that phone scene gave me goosebumps
>>63275558

>>63275764
>>63275807
Can you explain what you didnt like about or wanted to seei n the execution?
>>63275808
Yeah, he loved it as far as I know. It's a great movie, wish more movies did the slow-burn mystery style horror it had going on
>>63275558
I downloaded it a few nights ago, i'll watch it after fallen angels I didn't realize it'd be that good i just went on a spree of downloading asian movies.
It was a nice touch to include a nod to the author of the book, John Keel, with the Mr Leek character.
>>63275903
Yeah, Cure always gets thrown in with all the other J-horror flicks which I actually love, that's how I found out about it, but it couldn't be further from the likes of your generic, over the top Japanese genre flick. It's the closest thing to art house horror I've seen. Might wanna check out some analysis online after watching it though
>>63275558
>Anna Nakagawa
holy shit, my Mecha-King Ghidorah pilotfu!RIP 1965-2014 :(
I might have to watch this again. I haven't seen it since I was a kid and all I remember is how cool the concept and events it was based on are.

Your nose is bleeding...
>Richard Gere looking out a window over a bridge
>Close up of Richard Gere's lips
>"My... God..."
>bridge explodes
Screenshot bro why''d you stop? Did mothman get you? tbqh
Indrid Cold is one of the best fictional names i've ever heard spoken.

It's one of those almost-cool, kind-of lame-ass made-up names that the ultraterrestrials always take.
Fuck you, OP. Have to rewatch now. Book is one of my all-time favourites, though. That and 'Strange Creatures from Time and Space'.
>>63276515
it's right before that, as he realizes the bridge is going to collapse (and that the Mothman prophecies are REAL) and he's like "My god.."
for some reason it's the main thing I remember from the movie
>>63276465
He's not looking out of a window, he is standing on the bridge.
There's no pause in the "My God".
The bridge does not explode, it starts to collapse.
>1 upboat bc you got the the close-up shot right though
>>63275558
this ones actually on youtube and in decent quality with subs
