audrey II was maybe the best practical effect ever made. the only contender is the baby from eraserhead.

i challenge anyone to find a better one.

Audrey II is still amazing to this day.

The fact that that the actors had to perform at like 1/8 speed is pretty incredible.

The T rex from the first Jurassic Park, or the Queen alien from Aliens, The various things from The Thing.

Did they?I thought they just spliced in the stuff with the plant later.

the transformation sequence of Micheal Jackson into a werewolf in Thriller was pretty good

Gremlins, tmnt, ghostbusters, 1994 jurassic park, creatures and so on

I'm pissed they dropped stop motion just as it was getting good.

Matte and color correction, digitally, that's about it.

>The scenes in which the two largest Audrey II puppets are performing with the actors are filmed at a lower speed. First at 16 frames per second, then at 12 frames per second for the final number. This means that the actors had to move and lip sync in slow motion.

So yeah all the Audrey II stuff when it's talking and singing is done in camera and slowed down later.

Pretty seamless if you ask me

>spend literally 5 million dollars just on the ending of your movie
>trash the whole fucking thing just because some babbi's in a test screening couldn't handle a downer ending

While the CG in Jurassic Park still holds up decently well, I'd still be interested in how Tippet would have done with the Go-motion.

The cars are also all filmed separately and cut together and the explosions are CG-enhanced. The guy swinging in front of the explosion is 1995 blue screen-tier as well.
