this is almost as bad as those tv-shop ads where the "bad" piece of the video shows how terrible it is without the product they're selling so they slap some desaturation filter on it to make it seem even more miserable.

slap some damn contrast on it or decrease the brightness.
>>
>>63258220

Red seems way more modular.

All you need to sell now is a cube box with a god-tier digital sensor. And sell accessoiries to handle properly this black cube, that's all.

You can zoom in using MPC-HC on any part of the screen and keep zooming in and it is zuper crisp and clear.

Oh and there are,

You guys know most movie theatres only have 2K projectors right? Even the digital imax. You're basically watching movies in 1080p.
>>
>>63258896

Ok. Because I had 5k monitor at work (around 2005) but their response time was fucking horrible and costing 30k each for a 22". It was medical stuff.
>>
>>63258220

based German engineering
>>
>>63259069
nope. Movie theatres also have 4K projectors.
>>
are people pretending to notice 4k and 8k?

How the fuck can cinemas be at 2k on a screen that big and people are gushing over 4k on their monitors and 40 inch TV's?
>>
>>63258220

That's just the more expansive one but very few people use this brand no ? What's the mount ?
>>
>>63259069
>movie theatres

Those still exist?

>>63259106
I had a 4k monitor back when they didn't call it 4k for my old gaming system. But it was a shitty brand and it died like 3 times while under warranty. I went back to 3 1920x1200 monitors. All died Now I'm down to some shitty LCD Dell at 1280x1024 that is already showing signs of dying. Meanwhile my ancient gateway CRTs are still as strong as ever.

It hurts to live. Why can't this new shit be as tank-like as the old CRTs?
>>
>>63259273

4k is a big difference with a good uncompressed source. Above... I'm not sure or we are taking about 100inch screen. My eyes cannot follow more.
>>
>>63259236
Yeah but most don't, and the majority of movies in the last decade were mastered and edited in 2K.
>>
>>63259300
>but very few people use this brand no

Alexia is the standard actually, RED is the new kid in town. RED wishes they had the TV industry which is all Alexia now.
>>
>>63259447
>Alexia is the standard

Meant ARRI
>>
>>63259300

ARRI and Panavision used to dominate the film camera market back in the days.
ARRI now develops digital cameras while Panavision still mainly focuses on 35mm and 70mm film. RED is a new company that exclusively makes digital cameras.
>>
>>63259826
Ok I didn't know

With the power of consumer processors, paralles computing, 100megapix sensors exisiting in the world of photography (hasseblad for exemple), they could do so much more for the theatrical release and their quality.

These pro digital cameras just looks like normal DSLR with some fancy things on it.
>>
>>63259950
>100megapix sensors
There's a common misconception that number of pixels = image quality, but that's just not really true. My phone has 16 fucking megapixels and the pictures look like garbage. Meanwhile 4K is technically only 8 megapixels, and 1080p is like 2. In digital cinema cameras there's a lot more that goes into quality like dynamic range, how well it handles low light, and so on.

Because you have a tiny sensor ou tour phone

Hass is big. Bigger than 35mm, it could cause aa problem.
>>
It looks shit because shitty filmmakers can get their hands on it, which is essentially all the footage you find.
>>
>>63261359
this is why film always will be superior

it's expensive as fuck, it takes skill, it takes guts so hacks will stay away and keep shooting their features on glorified iphones
