This scene kind of ruined Vader's redemption in RotJ. Killing rebels? Sure. Blowing up a planet on others orders? Cool. But straight up murdering a school full of children? I don't see how you could redeem yourself for that ever, nor do I see why Obi-Wan would look back on Vader with fond memories in ANH after seeing him kill defenseless kids.

Watch the Clone War cartoon and series.
Better than the prequels in every way, you actually get the sense why Obi-Wan called him a great warrior, pilot and a good friend.
Also makes the Clone Troopers really based. If they take one element from the prequels to use in the new movie, I hope it's competent, even heroic Storm Troopers with an actual chain of command infrastructure.
