Ausfag here, no idea what's considered normal. I know in america they get kids in school to have communal showers after sport where you see each others dicks and we didn't have that, so maybe I'm on the conservative side of not letting other people see your willy

Hello fellow Ausfag here
The school I went to had showers on the gym change-room but no one was forced to use them, some students did choose to use them

>>
>>63181578

Ausfag you're replying to here

We had a couple shower cubicles too but nobody was expected to use them to the point where it was actively discouraged since it wasted time and the space in those cubicles was needed to fit people in the changerooms who needed to get changed

I never did a team sport like soccer or footbal and I believe they might have done the public shower thing, not sure. There's public showers at swimming pools and gyms and the like but it's only really ever old people with no shame who use them, younger people take turns using shower cubicles because they're too modest or something

Two out of five people at my schoolies got naked in front of everyone else though, one was drunk and the other was just trying to fuck with us
>>

I've only recently broken my BF cherry, I wish I'd done it years ago. It's so much better than TV Who. McGann and Colin Baker have both shot right to the top of my list of favourite Doctors. I would appreciate any recommendations if anyone has any. I've already listened to Spare Parts, Jubilee, The Pirates, The Juggernauts, Storm Warning and The Sword of Orion.
>>
>>63181617
Why? They'll still be using the same people and will have the same budget restrictions.

Time Heist. It also canonised Abslom Daak. Anyway, even if he wasn't currently canon, there's no reason that he couldn't be made as such. Like Eight's Big Finish companions were in NoTD.
>>
just saw recent episode. What a boring piece of shit. Oh wow he took the long way around to get to Galifree.
We knew that was going to happen, thanks for the 50 minute jerk off it took to get there.

Tom Baker could carry a solo Doctor serial about Galifree, Capaldi can't.

>That's when I remember! Always then! Always then! It was exactly there! I can't keep doing this, Clara. I can't! Why is it always me? Why is it never anybody else's turn? Can't I just lose? Just this once! Easy. It would be easy. It will be so easy. Just tell them. Just tell, whoever wants to know all about the Hybrid. I can't keep doing this! I can't! I can't always do this! It's not fair! Clara, it's just not fair! Why can't I just lose? But I can remember, Clara. You don't understand. I can remember it all. Every time. And you'll still be gone. Whatever I do, you still won't be there.
Just try to imagine Baker delivering those lines.

The Fearmonger (by /who/'s favorite author, Cheers Jon Blum) is a top tier Seven and Ace story.
If you like Evelyn you could go back and listen to her debut story, The Marian Conspiracy. I'd also recommend the first two stories of the Forge trilogy, Project: Twilight and Project: Lazarus (the third one, Project: Destiny, requires some additional listening). After Lazarus, listen to Arrangements for War.
The Holy Terror is also great, and introduces the GOAT comic companion Frobisher to audio.
As for the McGann stuff, The Stones of Venice and Seasons of Fear are great fun.
The Fires of Vulcan and The Church and the Crown are good pure historicals.
And last but most definitely not least, the Villains trilogy (Omega, Davros, Master) is GOAT.
>>
>>63181860
Col would pull it off better than Tom IMO.
>>
>>63181860

That monologue was killed a little bit by being about the hybrid, which tbqf is one of the worst season arcs

What's moff trying to accomplish? He set up the concept of the hybrid in the opener, then throughout the series we saw many different things that were identified as a hybrid, and now there's a big bad hybrid? What did all the rest of the hybrids have to do with anything? How do they relate to the ultimate hybrid in any way? Even Bad Wolf was better since it was intentionally an out of context nonsequitor rather than being a concept with some meaning completely unrelated to the ultimate finale meaning
>>
>>63181872
Smith would match Capaldi's. Tennant would just wobble with his big teary eyes and wobbly lips. Baker's would feel sad.
>>
>>63181930
*Baker's would not feel sad.
>>
>>63181930
Baker never displayed much sadness or empathy in the role. He didn't do depth at all really.
>>
>>63181930
Tennant would get angsty like he did in End of Time

>>63181888
>not having separate bathrooms for parents and children
joke's on my brother
>>
>>63181906
I've got the villains trilogy and the first six of both Eight and Six's stories. I'm definitely planning on getting The Holy Terror and the other one with Frobisher thats name escapes me. Are there many pure historicals? There doesn't appear to be a way of filtering by story type. I'm also interested in the comical stories.
>>
>>63181959
He did some good work in Genesis.
>>
>>63181959
Because the Doctor was much more stoic then and not a bitchboi to inconsequential human companions.
His forced casting aside of Sarah Jane and the departure of Romana were fantastically subtle performances from Baker that are still greater than any nuWho Doctor tearing up like a menstrual teen girl.

>You'd destroy your own kind, your own people just for one friend?
>You stripped me from my best friend, you killed her, you made me go through a bespoke hell, and you think I'm going to come back to Gallifrey as a hero?! I will end this planet!
>You ended the Time War Doctor, that's remarkable, but I don't think you're capable of doing that.
>You think I can't? After all I've been through? You still think the Doctor is here? The Doctor is gone! The only thing that remains is me, the Hybrid, and I will stand in the ashes of this planet! I was fine without you, for more than a thousand years, I made new friends, but you had to come and destroy my new life! Well listen to this, people of Gallifrey! If the Time Lords don't bring back Clara Oswald right now, I will kill the generals, I will kill the Lord President, I will burn down the Citadel and just to finish it off, I'll send Gallifrey back to the Time War and leave it defenceless against the Daleks! Hear me! This is your final day!

They used to have quite a lot of pure historicals in the Main Range, but they gradually stopped making them (now only the First Doctor has them), the last one was The Angel of Scutari in 2009. Tardis Wiki has a list of pure historicals in all media:
tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Historical_stories
The Kingmaker is both a great historical (not 100% pure, though) and a great comedy.

>popularly hated

/who/ is about as far from a representative sample as you can possibly fucking get when it comes to Doctor Who.
>>
>>63184072
Did anyone like Kill the Moon? Even tumblr hated it because they're pro-choice.
>>
Reminder that the Doctor and Clara are the Hybrid. It's a metaphor.
>>
>>63184096
I thought Kill the Moon WAS pro-choice. The Doctor, the character with the moral authority, gave the women the choice.
>>

Even plenty of people here loved it. To most people it was an unremarkable episode. It got an audience appreciation much like other episodes that series.
>>
>>63183974
I'm okay with this.
>>
>>63184132
yeah but they didn't kill it and go out for drinks afterwards, that's not tumblr's idea of pro-choice
>>
>>63184132
its prolife.

>moon is a shell

>new moon/egg lain immediately
That episode was just fucked sideways and made less sense than forest of the night (quite an achievement desu senpai)
>>
>>63184132
I actually met SJW-inclined people who think this way. But the story vilified the woman who didn't want to keep the baby and glorified those who stopped her.

It only makes sense as pro-choice if you think all women are interchangeable.

It was a very polarizing episode. If you had zero autism and could suspend all disbelief, it was a very well paced and thought provoking episode. However, if you're on /who/ chances are there's enough autism there to rage at the ham-fisted, if unintentional, anti-abortion message and all of the basic high school level science errors.

I say this as someone who thinks it's the worst episode NuWho since Fear Her.

It's hard to suspend my disbelief, but I would manage if episode was actually interesting and thought-provoking.

The only thought it provoked in me was "Who would think it's a good idea?" I'm not talking here about blatant violations of any scientific sense, though I have problem with that I laid out here multiple times, but when you make a story about hard choices, you probably shouldn't abolish everyone of consequences via an absurd final twist.

>keeping things simple
In what way? No big multi-series arcs or just no arc culminating in a big finale for each series?
I'd say the latter will definitely be kept, as it's been there as it's been there since RTD. Dunno about the former.
>>
Has Doctor Who ever had a cricket focused episode?
>>
>>63184392
100%. No one writes the same way Moffat does, and once he leaves, no one will again.

There will almost certainly be story arcs though.

>>63184319
Moffat is probably leaving after series 10.

Likely showrunners: Mathieson or Gatiss.
Likely companion: a female from Earth, but not from the 21st century. Possibly a male as well.

As long as he's directing and not writing, I'm hyped.

It's like Utopia in that it's technically the beginning of a 3 part story, but stands well on its own. Heaven Sent is also perfectly good as a standalone.

Although Heaven Sent didn't start with a 'previously on', just a short flashback to clala's death

Fuck off, he's brilliant.
>>
>>63185256
Rotten Tomatoes includes every paid critic that's written anything about the episode. Critics are notoriously stupid. See: Kill the Moon.

Heaven Sent was just too complex for them, even though a child could follow it without a problem (and many have).

Also note that The Woman Who Lived, despite having a lower than average tomato score, had the best reviews of the season until Heaven Sent. It's the same people giving shit scores every time because they don't actually like Doctor Who, they just have to watch it for their job.
>>
>>63185315
>the Osgood Box scene deserves that score, the rest of the episode not so much
Yeah, but the rating is for the whole episode not a single scene.

And Heaven Sent really was a great episode. I was prepared to hate it and brush it off as more Moffat tripe, but no matter how much I tried to force myself to dislike it by the end I left thinking it was a pretty good episode. Found the final line to be complete shite though.

I didn't like it for two reason, number one that I'm a massive racist who hates all pakis and number two that it was so obvious and forced, they even made the Zygon flag look like the ISIS flag.

If a large minority of the "moderate" Zygons approved of the actions of the Zygon terrorists then doesn't that make them just as bad? Just because something is passive doesn't mean it's not a bad thing.
