Despite officially omitting Army of Darkness they've already brought back several concepts from it. Ash being a stock boy, "boomstick", mechanical hand, etc.
Episode 4&5 were shit, 5 especially. Hopefully the director/writer for the next episode picks things back up.

Digging the show so far, but I really some more straight faced scenes of horror. The scene with the cops and Backwards Head Lady in the pilot was genuinely effective.
The only thing that bugs me about this show is the special effects.
I know Evil Dead can kind of exploit the "so bad it's good" special effects thing, but the CGI stuff just looks really bad sometimes.

The thing with Ash is that he's without a doubt insane. The transformation he makes as a character from Evil Dead 1 to AoD is very, VERY drastic. In fact I think you can pinpoint the exact moment Ash loses his sanity in Evil Dead 2.
The guy's mind breaks and it's like he now thinks his entire existence is an action movie. An existence which literally took him to a Marvel universe, which he survived.
