Monkey episode was lacking, but other than that it's a GOAT series
Sometimes it felt like it underdo hackery and write genuine comedy. But it was still incredibly fun.
>You and he were... buddies, weren't you?
I fucking love the deliberately bad continuity physical comedy type stuff.
Richard Ayoade is born for this shit

Watch Black Dynamite.
Danger 5>Toast of London>Darkplace

>standing in the background with his hands in his pockets
>cuts to a completely different location with him firing a shotgun in random directions
>cut back to him standing with his hands in his pockets in the background
>>63152744
I've actually never got around to watching that but I've always meant to
>>63152824
oof
She was like a candle in the wind.
Unreliable.

Why is it just the set up?

>tfw no stream to watch Darkplace with /tv/ bros
>>63152744
>Who's in charge here?
>Sarcastically, I am.
>Everyone looks at/around the camera
>All just get on with the scene
Probably the funniest thing ever filmed.
Was just watching this today while killing some time.
It's amazing how many new things you notice while watching it. Little glances and continuity fuck ups here and there.
The funeral shoot-out in ep1 is amazing.
>>63153973
It's "Sarcastically I'm in charge."
>>63150555
It was bad because it had Noel Fielding. He couldn't even be content with just making monkey noises, he just had to do that 'lol wacky exotic jungle tribe' yell.

>need i say more?

>>63154532
It seriously it the best comedy series of all time.
There's not 1 properly executed zoom in the whole thing - it's glorious
>I got into medicine for the laughs. That and the pussy.
>>63155282
Everytime it zooms into the model hospital as a transition, it's always shaky and indecisive. I fucking love it.
>>63154488
>understood?
>as crystal
Blood?
I'll get a mop
Is it wrong to unironically love the themesong? At least until Madeline Wool shows up?
"Of course the space broccoli was a metaphor for AIDS"

What I do sometimes is get a tin of soup, heat it up, poach an egg in it, serve that with a pork pie sausage roll

>>63156188
Come on Liz, I'll help you apply some more makeup
>>63156188
Not my fault.
Is this the greatest/most definitive quote from Darkplace?
>Maybe if everyone who'd ever been close to you had died, you'd be sarcastic too.
>>63154059
"Militants turn startled!"
>>63156294
>I guess you forgot about the time you and Bravo company left my black ass for dead, huh? But I remember. I remember everything. I remember Vietnam like it was yesterday. I remember that village in Tainan that we cut down. It was a massacre. All the dead Chinamen we left in our tracks. I remember the faces, the children. This one child I'll never forget. Poor little bastard was still alive. His little Chinese legs were blown clean off! Still see his little shins & feet hanging from the ceiling fan across the hut. He was charred from his head down to his little Chinese knees. He tried to get up, but he fell over when what was left of his right leg broke off. As he laid there, flat on his face, he looked up at me. His little Chinese eyes burned right into my stomach, deep into my soul. He said something to me in Chinese like, 'Boo coo sow!', sounded like some cartoon shit. But I understood it to be a question that he was asking me. And I don't have to know how to speak Chinese to know what that question was. 'Why, Black Dynamite? Why?'
>>63155420
and that dried up ten year ago if you'll pardon the expression
Pic from the first Darkplace rehearsals.
>Something was pouring from his mouth. He examined his sleeve. Blood? Blood. Crimson, copper-smelling blood. His blood. Blood. Blood. Blood. And bits of sick.
>>63156474
>Blood? Blood.
Has anyone seen any of the Garth Merenghi stuff besides Darkplace?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garth_Marenghi
So did Thornton kill Liz or not? I say yes.
Also is Man To Man with Dean Leaner worth watching?
>>63156517
I've seen Man To Man but I don't think filmed versions of the Edinburgh shows exist.
>>63156474
>Mike stared in disbelief as his hands fell off. From them rose millions of tiny maggots. Maggots? Maggots. Maggots. Maggots. Maggots... all over the floor of the post office in Leytonstone.
>>63154016
Funeral shoot out is my favourite scene in the whole thing. Dat flamethrower.
>>63156533
It's good but not on par with Darkplace
The Steve Pising episode is brilliant though

Darkplace threads are the best things on /tv/.
Yay or nay?
What I do is sometimes get a tin of soup, heat it up, poach an egg in it, serve that with a pork pie sausage roll.
>>63156986
Darkplace, Frasier, MST3K (probably not anymore, thanks Joel you hack), all have the best threads.
>>63156991
>>63156153
It's egg in soup!
Yes. Partridge threads used to be great too but I haven't seen one for years.

Because anon is unreliable
>Harrison Ford was a carpenter. As far as I'm concerned Harrison Ford is still a carpenter. He looks like he's always just about to fit a joist. That guy is on auto-cruise. Harrison Ford is on auto-cruise! I wish he'd just get it into fourth once in a while. Jesus, also another great carpenter. Well, I don't know if he was a good carpenter, but his eye wasn't really on the job from the age of 27 up. He had bigger fish to fry. Literally, he had bigger fish to fry. But, it just shows that woodwork is a good grounding for whatever profession you end up going into

>I grew up in the shit, yeah? I can tell you about all kinds of shit. I can tell you about horse manure, I can tell you about dog poop. I can tell you about human excrement too. Because I've seen it and I've smelled it and I've talked to the guys who made it. So up yours, pal
