I was terrified of gremlins when I was like 10. Used to have nightmares about them. Gremlins and the clown from IT.

Honestly I hope they just continue what Joe Donte was doing with Gremlins 2, just make it so fucking strange and irreverent. The original gremlins is a charming 80's comedy / horror film that you can't reproduce, if they try it will just be disappointing and make people angry. If however they treat it like the joke that it is and have gremlins wrecking havoc with our modern world it could be really great.

I always liked the sequel better as a kid.
The first one was a boring 80s John Hughes rip off. Gremlins 2 is just this weird, dumb stew of insanity. When you grow up and read about the production and everything that went into making it, things start to make sense. I actually appreciated it more afterwards.
