What's your minimum filesize for an average two hour long movie in 1080p? 720p?
>>
>>63134892
8-10
>>
>>63134892
Maximum 1.5GB for 1080p, max. 700MB for 720p.
A:10 V:10
>>
>>63134892
I prefer 720p simply because I do not have the space to keep many 30-40gb movies and I need to keep them seeding as long as possible because it's hard for me to get a good ratio with my garbage upload speed
>>
Full BD iso
>>
8-10GB for 1080p
5-8GB for 720p

I wish they'd stop making rips with FLAC audio though. Such a waste of space.
>>
YIFY sizes
>>
>>63134892
I seriously hope you don't use utorrent.
>>
>>63135100
yes, 2.2.1

as long as I don't get love letters from my ISP I really couldn't care less
>>
>>63135100
why not? it's the fastest client available and the most popular so it's easier to make a seed network
>>
>>63135141
they install bitcoin miners in your computer
>>
>>63134930
yify please go
>>
>>63134892
1080p

You know the 1080p that is really just 1080 pixels horizontally (1080x608) instead of true 1080p vertically (1920x1080). That's as low as I'll go. Fuck those faggots with 720p that is really just 720 pixels horizontally.
>>
>>63135213
You have to check the box for it to install that, it is optional. Like optional installing Norton anti-virus when installing Adobe shit.
>>
>>63135141

at this point it's basically a virus with features that you can control yourself

>>63134892

i dont know what the fuck im doing so ill just take the 1080 one that has the most seeds and if it's an old movie or a comedy ill just download it in 1 or 2 gigs so i can watch it right away
>>
20-30GB 1080p remux or death.
>>
4 for 720p 8-10 for 1080p
>>
>>63135328
people should just list the pixel totals.
that p shit is just to sell widescreen monitors.
>>
>>63135398
Maybe it is now. But at one point it wasn't optional. and it's dumb to trust a company that would do that when you can just migrate to another client.
>>
>>63135213
>>63135417
so it's become the Limewire of 2015?
>>
>>63135487
Some do.

>>63135517
That isn't true. Just because you use something else and swallow whatever the detractors say without checking the info yourself doesn't make it true.

Pay attention to what you are installing.
>>
>>63135487
You can just search 1920x1080 on TPB or KAT and get movies that have it listed in their title.
>>
>>63135213
Not if you use an older version, or choose not to install the excess garbage.

There are many other torrent programs out there, lots with nice added features, but I couldn't care less about the extra stuff. I just want to be able to torrent.
>>
I swear to god both scene and p2p with their retarded audio standards should rethink their shit.

Fucking use AAC that shit sounds transparent at very low bitrate+saves lot of space.

Worse than DTS audio is some dumbfuck FLAC audio
>>
>>63135740
I'm okay with lossless TrueHD or Masters Audio shit on a remux, but on encodes it is bullshit. Some encoders will upload the lossless track separately in case someone wants it, then in the main pack put the DTS track. I think that's the best way to go.
>>
>>63135829
It isn't difficult to have several files and methods to choose from. When you load the tracker you uncheck what you don't want.
>>
>>63134892
normally go for 4gb 720p, for 1080p more than 6
>>
>>63135829
On a remux but on non-remux I always get upset when there's THD, DTS or even worse FLAC audio tracks.

Just redundant file size bump + compared to AAC unless you got actual hifi setup you wont hear difference.
>>
>>63135894
To my knowledge that fucks things up on private trackers, then you end up showing as a partial... usually it is just packaged separately.
>>
>>63135944
Yeah, I agree. DTS isn't so bad, but the lossless and THD ones are killers for an encode. I mean it makes no sense to save all that space on video, just to bloat the package with lossless audio that no one can tell apart anyways.
>>
>>63134892
GRYM or BTFO
>>
Is there a place I can go to reliably get hardcoded english subs for foreign films?

Whenever I want to watch a film with someone else, rather than sitting in my room, I watch it on the old Xbox and stream it from my PC, but for whatever reason the 360 doesn't let you load .srts, or at least it didn't when I first set it up.
>>
>>63136265
GRYM, FGT and GCJM or whatever it was are based
>>
>>63135951
>private trackers

lol who gives a shit really?
>>
If it's H.264, then about 1GB/hour for 720p is pretty standard. Slightly more if they use higher bitrate or lossless audio.
>>
>>63134892

720p around 4 gb
1080p around 8 gb
>>
>What's your minimum
>minimum
I've never not downloaded a movie because the file size was too small. I start getting irritated when a movie is over 3 gigs, though.
>>
>>63136782

this.

also read description/mediainfo to make sure audio isnt AC3-128kbps
>>
180mb or lower from some indian site.
works for non action movies suprisingly well they must have flaweless settings.

90% of non action movies arent even worth 500mb.

if i wanted good music id listen to music or watch a musical with better bitrates.
>>
>>63137238
Are you watching on your phone or something?

A crucial bit of information is the size of the screens you people are using. I have a 2560x1080 29" ultrawide. Most stuff I find below 1 gig is awful.
>>
>>63137732
oh yeah the screen is complete shit obviously
>>
5-8GB for 720p
10-20GB for 1080p
>>
>Not getting your releases via streaming

That being said 720p is the highest i'd go, there literally is no reason to waste your bandwith for a 1080p movie in 2015
>>
I download based on how much I like the movie. The more I like the movie, the bigger the rip I'll try to find.
>>
>>63138180

720p is a terribly inaccurate description these days
>>
>watching anything below 10GB/hour
plebes out in full force today I see
>>
>>63134892

>not using Transmission Qt

OP, do a favour to your parents and neck yourself.

12-23 GB with lossless surround sound for 1080p

>things I would never download

Movies in 720p, is ok for web or TV rips of on going anime but never for bluray movies

Ac3 audio in +/-400 kbps, that's DVD audio level, fuck you

Less than 10 GB movie rips

>also

>Not wanting lossless surround sound
I want poorfags to leave
>>
>>63138753

>Lossless audio.
Just hang yourself you fucking retard

AAC can be transparent at much less cost than lossless audio retard anime namefag

I use the BitTorrent client. Am I a pleb?
>>
>>63138791

>aac

HDDs are cheap but some people still do this, why ?
>>
flick; 2 gb max
film: 4 gb max
something extremely special: 10 gb max
>>
>>63139022
Because it sounds TRANSPARENT AT VERY LOW BITRATE WHILE RETAINING GOOD QUALITY.

It is fucking retarded to waste multiple gigs god forksake on non-remux with audio track(s)
>>
>>63139138

>having option is retarded

What if someone have a superior sound system, or superior hearing or likes placebo ?

I always have the option of DTS Master or Dolby HD in movies but not always in anime. Thanks to the poorfags AAC fags
>>
>>63134892

>>
>>63134902
>>63135035
this

Also, I never download 720p and don't know why people do it.
>>
>>63134930
lol i'll be honest yify sucks but i'll gladly take a 1080p rip that's around 2GB and 128kbps audio.

my tv is 37" and i don't have a good audio set up so i don't even notice the difference family
