I didn't really know who this guy was till yesterday, never got into TGWTG, always was more of an AVGN guy, but holy shit. After seeing some of that movie I couldn't believe how bad it was. That much money could have afforded way better than what they've done.

Locations and sets are amongst the first things you cut corners on when making movies on a super tight budget, and Linkara blew over half the budget on it- 24k for the spaceship set, 10k to rent a studio to set the fucking thing up.
Not even for all the sets. One set. And it looks like shit. There's no decent lighting on it, the camera's basically glued to either close-ups or that "above the waist" angle he seems to like so much so you barely get a look at it anyway, and it's barely furnished, there's just his one chair whilst everyone stands around- or lies down, which they have to do for the sleeping scene.
Could've been done in greenscreen, saved half the money anyway and it wouldn't have made a lick of difference compared to how bad the rest of the movie looks- a final showdown which is a room full of cardboard boxes, a spaceship that is just set in someone's living room, his apartment, a shitty looking office, and that absolutely laughable bar scene when he could've just asked to shoot at any bar outside opening times.
To think he could've just used that money to focus on buying a better camera, some better lighting kits or microphones/hiring a better sound mixer.
