There is no time lock anymore according to Moffat in a DWM, and besides, Gallifrey got taken out of the Time War so it wouldn't be in a time lock even if there was one

So right now, in some small pocket universe, is a castle and ocean filled with billions of 12 skulls and the result of one man and his copies dying over and over again, for over 2 billion years, and the Doctor will probably be over that by Christmas.

And are the Time Lords not gonna use a truth field to get the info out of 12? Or did Moffat forget about that? wouldn't that have been easier?

No, Moffat said there's no longer one

>DANIEL PITTS asks: Was the barn Clara visits in Listen on Gallifrey, or a different planet? If it's Gallifrey, is it not time-locked? The sky didn't look burnt orange when we saw the outside of the barn in The Day of the Doctor, so does this mean it's another planet?

>In my head, he's in the Wastelands of Gallifrey (where the burnt orange dims to a lovely blue). Originally the script specified this, but I cut that, to give myself some wiggle room, should I ever need it. I wonder if this is a Time Lock question? Gallifrey and the events of the Time War are supposed to be held in a Time Lock, preventing the Doctor's return. However, in The Day of the Doctor, the Moment not only unlocked those events, she allowed them to change. The Doctor doesn't realise it yet, but, as demonstrated in Listen, the Time Lock no longer holds...
>>
Anyone else actually hype for this neo-Cartmel plan?

Because I'm not... I like the show a lot better when the Doctor just regular guy who wanders the universe and fixes things. Not when he's made into some sort of mythological figure.

The Main Clara was Clara Prime though, the one who jumped into his time stream, she knew him better than anyone.

Isn't that based on accessing a different dimension/pocket universe once you pass a threshold? That's why the Tardis interior can be "thrown" out for example

Doesn't matter, he knows that trillions of him have died, probably painfully at that (since he never experienced it burning him), all at the Time Lord's insistence and in their pursuit of the hybrid thing.

You're forgetting, the "rift" that the GI and Clara threw themselves into only represented the first set of the Doctor's regenerations, in a timeline where the doctor ultimately died at Trenzalore. That rift wouldn't have allowed Clara to travel ahead of that moment of death, so there should be no more fragments left for the Doctor to encounter.

Of course, "continuity" is a disease as far as the showrunners seem to be concerned, so who knows how they'll retcon it.

>>
>>63135419
Let's look at it this way: Everything in the castle resets except for stuff that wasn't there in the first iteration and room 12. So everything kept being in working condition, the shovel, the gears, the mechanisms.
The skulls were an addition made by the Doctor, thus they remained in the ocean and kept piling up/decaying over time.
The Doctor left a first set of clothes on one iteration that also didn't leave the room again, even though everything else in the room reset.
The shovel was there to begin with and always remained dirty.
>>
Okay, in answer to all the questions about shovels, skulls, gears, and so forth, the answer is, presumably Time Lords are watching this in some way, on fast forward or some shit, and it's curated to assure it continues to run--after all, it's not an infinite, closed loop. One of them has to have flipped the switch to bring the Doctor in. You think that one just spilled some sand and wrote "BIRD" in it? No. Different copies could've done things slightly differently each time, too.

If the Doctor always figured out what was going on in that room, why didn't he ever confess to some other nonhybrid shit to keep the Veil from killing him in the wall room, then try and trick the Veil to the room with the teleporter, confess to something else so it doesn't kill him immediately, and hook the Veil to teleporter instead of the Doctor himself?

If Veil dies and it works, bravo, you now have two capaldis, bring the other up to speed, both can now pound on the wall, use regeneration energy on each other to keep healing, ever get too tired, regenerate into another Doctor or hook yourself up to the teleporter again and bring in another fresh Capaldi. You'd be done much faster

Doesn't work and Veil lives, at least you tried, teleporter is right there to start again anyway
>>

Over a few billion years the old skulls would break down and decompose to make room for the new skulls

The real question is, if doctor who teleporters now run on star trek rules where they actually kill the original person and just print out a new copy, does that mean it's incredibly easy to clone people and/or time lords and/or therefore artificially reproduce functioning regeneration energy?
>>
>>63135700
Why not? He's the only one there. Or maybe the Time Lords observed him on the first few runthroughs, and tweaked some things.

Chances are the Timelords, Missy, etc. whoever was behind the whole thing set it up and left it to run automated.

Plus for all we know the time inside the space inside the veil could have been taking place in a fast time dilation and between the evil mastermind went to bed for the night and woke up the next morning a few billion plus years of Doctors have been punching a diamond wall.

Where the leakers who talked about Clara being on Gallifrey, Ashildr getting stuck on Gallifrey, etc.? It's all still possible.

Yes.
The Capaldick swung freely.

>>63135690
Congrats. You now have two Capaldis with a finite amount of regeneration energy instead of an army of billions of clones from a machine that gets reset everytime you use it.
The Doctor can still regenerate/die from old age, m8. Either you do it the way he did it or you're either not going to make or have to sacrifice one of the two of you every odd millenia to get a fresh Capaldi to help you out. Gruesome choice. Also, the Doctor would then eventually really become a different entity from the original, as the reconstructed 12 was an unbroken continuation in consciousness from the original that left Trap Street. Having two of you around creates different sets of memories for each of them, meaning they become their own independent person. So drawing straws over which one has to use the teleporter would really turn into murder.

Good point about the timestream rift deal.

My question is one that's been hanging in the air since Christmas 2013: if Clara whispered through Amy's crack and shamed the Time Lords cowering deep within into allowing Amy's crack to fart out golden energy right into the Doctor's mouth and THUS he never died his final death on Trenzalore and was never buried in his TARDIS which got rly massive due to dimensional leakage and his body inside the TARDIS never turned into his timestream corpse rigt thing, then why in tha fuck is The Name of the Doctor and all the Clara splinters still part of the continuity? Something about time being rewritten?

Also when you work backwards through the Moffat era and get it all straight in your head and then think about it in relation to what overarching plot points Rusty introduced the overall plot of the new series in terms of missing Gallifrey and then it's return and how that affects the whole universe rippling back from The Time of the Doctor to The Eleventh Hour (with The End of Time just beforehand being about the attempted return of the Time Lords lel) it is actually really interestingly plotted, I'll give 'em that.
