Agree. I think it should be a bit broader to just capture all forms of motion picture media. Although artistic and celebrated television seems to be a bit more common place in the last twenty years, as TV was considered to have lower prestige than film.
What would be a TV show that can be historically considered as a great historic achievement? Not something like I Love Lucy or Dallas or Gilligan's Island (which are historically important, if not objectively good in some way), but actually brilliant works.
Freaks and Geeks? For capturing the falling youth zeitgeist of the seventies in 1980?
Breaking Bad? A bit early to consider this as a masterpiece of human artistry.
