It got way too much hype and was way oversold for what it was, which is a middling war drama with okay writing. It's just forgettable and average, certainly not worth hating, or loving.

Just about everything you could get wrong about serving in the military or being in Iraq, this movie got wrong.
It was totally and completely unrealistic, but after it got awards Biggelo doubled down by saying."naah veterans, you just don't understand art lmao" and went on to direct Zero Dark Thirty, which was also universally panned by the military.
