I just finished up this movie for the first time in a while, and I just saw Spectre recently.

Fucking Christ this movie is so much better than Spectre. Craig is still handsome and athletic, Judi Dench is fantastic, the villain is actually interesting and weird while still being realistic. The action setpieces are interesting and dynamic, and Quantum feels both more realistic and more menacing than Spectre ever does in its movie.

Am I crazy, /tv/? The more I've thought about it, the more I just flat-out don't like Spectre, while I really like Quantum of Solace. Am I wrong?

It was ok, the problem was that compared to Casino it was a big letdown. It has some good scenes like the fight in the hotel room and the entire opera sequence

I'll agree with that.

On a recent rewatch I'd almost say Casino Royale>>>>QoS = Skyfall >>>>>>>Spectre.

The weird thing is that I appreciated QoS more on a rewatch and I appreciated Skyfall less.

So that's why they strangely enough even out.

Too short when Spectre was too long.
You could have taken half an hour from the second and give it to Quantum.

Overall you are right. The film got hated into oblivion at release when it was a run of the mill decent-to-good addition to the series.

The villain is a shit weedy faggot. Let's not pretend he's "good".

QoS did have some quite exceptional scenes though, mainly the opera stuff. Other than that, it's crap.

spectre is probably the best example of wasted potential i mean what the fuck did they do with christoph waltz?

>The villain is a shit weedy faggot.

That's what makes him good within the context of the film. Greene is SUPPOSED to be your average kooky environmentally conscious CEO. He's like Elon Musk or the CEO of Solyndra, or at least that's how he initially appears. Then he tears the mask off and reveals that he's a ruthless tyrant who wants to make everybody his slaves. He's got all the outward trappings of a hippy, but he's as dangerous as any old Bond villain deep down.

Quantum was a technical mess of a film. Shaky cam and sloppy editing everywhere (I think the average length between cuts in the action scenes is like one and a half seconds) and the plot is a contrived mess

Remember when the villains were half of the fun in a James Bond movie?

Now you gotta wait an hour for them to show up because of a lame attempt to build suspense.
And since the movies barely ever leave Bond's POV now, you don't actually get to see the fun parts. The scheming, the delusions of grandeur and the part where they dispose of a disappointing henchman.

SPECTRE wanted to bring back the feeling of oldschool Bond, but I don't think those people even GET what was great about James Bond.

Absolute shit. Worst villain since Elliot Carver

Anon, Jonathan Pryce chewed so much scenery it was incredible.
He's one of the good parts of that film.

Spottiswoode, pls.

>>63101909
the scene where the organization is all meeting and he was in the dark was great, mysterious and very unsettling. the film just went downhill from there

I didn't mind that part.

However Blofeld was so underused and poorly characterized that the only thing even giving him a bit of life was Christoph Waltz being Christoph Waltz.

It's such a fucking shame, because he could have been phenomenal if they had actually given him something to work with.

>shit talking based Carver

I think you need an appointment with the doctor.

This movie has a car chase, a boat chase, AND a plane chase. Who can beat that?
