The more I think about this movie, the less sense it makes. And don't tell me that it doesn't have to make sense. Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace both made sense. Even Skyfall made sense, or it made more sense than this.

Pro-tip: It makes sense

May not be a very good movie but it makes sense.
>>
>>63079543
>saying anything good about Quantum of Solace, ever

Don't do this. Worst Bond film of all time.
>>
>>63079543
>Movie starts with gay ass whiny theme song by a castrated cat
>After a meandering 1 and half hours of poorly organized plot with filler and ugly brown shit colored film tint,
>Bond discovers a mysterious organization
>Discovers it is called Spectre and his "lil bro" (Waltz) who killed his father and faked his death is alive and he set the organization up
>A cat and mouse game ensues, but Waltz the villain has hardly any screentime, so audience doesn't really get involved or really care about Waltz's and Bond's conflicted past, not to mention the audience doesn't really feel any menace from this manlet.
>Audience: Yawn, when the fuck... *checks cell phone time* holy shit, we're nearing the 2 hour mark
>Finally, these two confront each other
>Bond finally confronts Waltz at his base
>Waltz shows us some retarded meteor and tries to poorly explain how it relates to fate bringing it here to this very time, just like Bond reuniting with him because lol fate. DUDE POETRY LMAO
>Waltz showcases his surveillance grand scheme "DUDE MASS SURVEILLANCE SOCIAL COMMENTARY LMAO" The writer's jerk off watching this scene thinking they're deep thinkers and geniuses for being SO RELEVANT
>Waltz says the past 3 Bond films have been connected, all the villains, girls who have died including Vesper have been BECAUSE SPECTRE.
>Waltz: DUDE I'M BLOFELD LOL
>Bond learns after decades Waltz/Blofeld still has daddy issues BECAUSE HE PREFERRED BOND TO ME WAHHHh
">It was me James, it was me all along"
>Bond gets "tortured" by a teeny tiny needle, screaming for some reason, as if it's much worse than when his balls got beaten in Casino Royale
>Lea Seydoux hugs Bond and tells him "I love you" even though they've only known each other for a few days.
>He gets away by throwing a watch that explodes, lol what happened to Skyfall where Q said: "We don't do exploding pens or gadgets anymore"
>>
>>63080120

I still don't understand the hate it gets.
>>
>>63080132
>Action ramps up, audience stirs awake slightly
>Audience: "Holy shit, this must be where the climax is! Gonna be exciting! Bond is totally going to fuck the place up, and there's gonna be huge fire fights, explosions, and Bond and waltz/Blofeld going after each other in physical combat just like in the old films!"
>Sam Mendes: LOL no just kidding you guys, Bond only kills two guards and then takes off in a heli
>Audience: ...that's fucking stupid
>Bond gets back to London and reunites with M to stop some retarded manlet who has taken over MI6
>Bond, M and friends drive in a car together, which makes for a completely awkward scene.
>Audience: Ok, Waltz was killed? in the most anticlimatic way possible, why the fuck is this film still going?
>Car is attacked, Bond is captured and taken to MI6 against his will but then miraculously kills the henchmen out of nowhere
>Bond looks for Blofeld (surprise he's still alive! And look, he's got a scar over the eye, just like the old Bond films lol!" in the building, where he has set up a party of images hung on the walls of past villains in an incredibly cringeworthy way, like wtf
>Bond and Blofeld then duke it out with a retarded helicopter bit
>Bond doesn't even kill this retard, who was responsible for Vesper's death, his lover.
>Bond throws his gun in the river
>James Bond will return?
>Mfw

Die Another Day?
Moonraker?
A View to a Kill?

C'mon now.

Roger Moore was a mistake
>>
>>63080197
DAD has the worst theme of all time and sucks in general, but there are good scenes in it which exempts it from overall worst. Moonraker is a cartoon. View to a Kill is entertaining bad.

Quantum is just unwatchable shit.

The only people in the audience who thought that were the idiots who weren't paying attention at all.

It's hardly any more ridiculous than TSWLM which for some reason gets praised by many as a series high point. Only difference is a space battle and double-taking pigeon.

It's pure shit and far worse than QoS which was just an underwhelming sequel to CR.

Spy who loved me and For your eyes only are legitamatly better than most of connery's and all of brosnans

Not to mention the scene was horrendously awkward. Felt like Bond was raping her.

All of the sex scenes in Skyfall and Spectre are awkward as fuck. It's like Mendes goes in and says "Good now breathe really heavily and act like you're trying to eat each other!"
>>
sex hadn't bothered me in past bond movies, but in this one it was too unnatural

the one with bellucci felt to forced and the one with the bond girl was pretty much a joke

Honestly the most retarded torture device ever used in a bond film

Clearly you haven't watched Thunderball in which the villain carefully explains how when "scientifically applied" the heat of a cigar burn and the cold of ice cubes will cause immense pain.
>>
>>63080132
>>Bond gets "tortured" by a teeny tiny needle, screaming for some reason, as if it's much worse than when his balls got beaten in Casino Royale

I actually was waiting for the twist that the torture worked on Bond and that he wouldn't recognize Lea Seydoux anymore. This would explain how he sleeps with women constantly since they are all basically the same woman
>>
>>63080410

That's called prosopagnosia (forgetting familiar faces), and it's a real thing. The anatomical references mentioned were real, but the places where he put the needles were retarded.

That, or Blofeld was just having fun.

Pretty spot on. You could have probably made it twice as long, including Blofield's henchman trying to kill him on the train before he gets to the desert and him going there anyway and waiting for hours to put himself in a ridiculously vulnerable position. And also the plane car chase was the most insultingly stupid thing I've seen in a while.
>>
>>63080146
>then miraculously kills the henchmen out of nowhere
Wow it's like you've never watched a Bond movie before
>>
If it weren't for Dave Bautista and Waltz this would be a literal 2/10 movie.
>>
>>63080357
Fucks her after breaking glasses in rage in front of her and then making her cry, don't forget.
>>
>>63080547

Waltz was terrible, and he keeps on playing the same character over and over
>>
>>63080586
Yeah it's a huge bummer he didn't pan out.
>>
>>63080586
I don't think it's entirely his fault. The writers clearly just wanted him to do what he did in Inglourious Basterds and simply didn't do a very good job.

It's Waltz' fault for taking the part but you can't really blame him for taking the chance to be a Bond villain... especially Blofeld.

Waltz was still fantastic in Basterds and Django.

>>
>>63080278
I was watching QoS recently and it's actually pretty entertaining. It helps if you really clearly remember what happens in Casino Royale.

The realpolitik and the tension between the Americans and the Brits is really nice. It also manages to get at what a bunch of bastards the USA have been in South America, which was totally surprising in a Bond movie of all things.
>>
>>63080675
Waltz is a meme actor. He always plays the exact same role. He's done it for years. He even played the same "menacing" evil but well mannered psychopath in fucking Kommissar Rex.

It was enjoyable but incredibly loose. From little things, like how Belluci at some point gets in lingerie, when Lea goes to sleep she wakes up in different clothes, to them never quite explaining why anyone wanted a big spy network other than 'it's the future'. Everything about it was just loose as a witch tit.

Was it just me or did Craig look like he's wrapped in plastic the first time he meets C?
It felt like they weren't even in the same room when that scene was filmed, like they just copy/pasted Craig from some weirdly airbrushed and heightened contrast photoshoot for Esquire or something..
>>
The bit where he used a handgun to shoot down a chopper that was a considerable distance away made me laugh in the theater. Not to mention he was on a rocking speedboat. It just seemed so off.

I had a similar thought, that they would get back to the roots of the old James Bond, but no it's just a fucking costume Bond Wears for 3minutes
