>Poor blocking. Scenes, especially on the spaceship, are presented as if they're on a tiny stage facing an audience. Sometimes actors appear in different slices of space-time rather than part of a cohesive scene.
>Poor writing. Jokes are over-explained and over-elaborated. Basic actions are over-explained, like learning how the ship's intercom works. The premise is laughable. I genuinely don't understand why we have a movie about a comic reviewer that follows a Star Trek-style mission to recon a missing government spaceship. The AVGN movie was similarly overblown, but at least it was self-aware and goofy. This takes itself so seriously it's baffling.
>Poor acting. Linkara is flat and dull, in all of his roles, awkward on camera. Harvey and Linkara are especially bad, 90's kid is just unfunny, Dr. Insano is tolerable. The rest of the cast vary - Lanipator is trying but is poorly directed and has mouthfuls of lines to try to make work. Brad doesn't give a shit at all.
>Bad sets. Well. One set is good - the set of the Comicron One - good in the sense of 'laser tag sci-fi theme set', with its spraypainted texture and all. It may have been serviceable if it had been lit atmospherically at all. As it stands it looks awful. Every other set is just someone's house - even the other spaceship. Trailer seems to show them beaming into some cargo hold - which is just the side of the studio the set isn't occupying.
>Bad sound. Sounds like a single boom mic, no lapels or anything else to grab audio, no ADR. Not much foley. Some acceptable SFX like the ship panning in stereo.
