Sure, JJ.
Something that may be important for TFA:
Ilum and Starkiller Base's Origin Point on old and new canon star maps are basically the same place. Ilum in the old canon had caves full of Kyber Crystals, which power laser weapons in the new canon (Death Star, lightsabers). What if the FO turned Ilum into Starkiller Base with the mines of crystals as it's weapon?
>>63069551
Would make sense.
>>63069450
fuck pegg
>>63069551
It'll probably be true in the novelization or something, but not explicitly mentioned in the movie

I'm really excited for his performance as main antagonist. I hope they don't kill him off.

STAR THE FORCE AWAKENS WARS
>>63069170

>>63069698
We won't know for sure until TFA hits, but the Story Group was set up to basically make every different work related in some way, which definitely extends to the movies. The JtTFA books that came out in September were marketed as having clues to TFA, so they do kind of matter.
Plus, a book series spin-off from Rebels basically showed the origins of the First Order.
>>63069797
I wouldn't put too much faith in the canon staying rigid.
They've already broken it just this week.
Rebels has the Interdictor class ship introduced as new technology, but the canon novel Tarkin had the Interdictor in use 10 years prior.
Despite the "Story Group", there's a hierarchy of canonicity.
Movies always number 1.
Then TV.
Then books.
>>63069856
>Despite the "Story Group", there's a hierarchy of canonicity.
Actually there isn't. I love it when /tv/ pretends to know anything about Star Wars. Everything is on equal ground.

STAR THE FORCE AWAKENS SPECIAL EDITION WARS
>>63069910

>>63069856
Tarkin was it's first real field test, yes, but it wasn't widely used or tested after that. It still had to be readjusted to work and by Rebels is when the next test could be.

>I love the experience of wanting to know more

>>63069856
>>63069957
The main strategy of fitting things into canon to work between movies, books and shows seems to be "here's a prototype that may work, but it won't be used until years later when the kinks are worked out."

Is the 3D Clone Wars series worth watching? Is it made for babies? Rebels sure looks like it was.
>>63072764
Grit your teeth and get through the first two seasons. Season 3 is when it starts getting really good, and season 4 onward is fantastic.

They kinda have to though. With that 50 year gap, pretty much nothing from the prequels can directly transfer over to the sequels.
