oh man, I guess this means people will be less willing to fund my project in the future :(

I was thinking of going the Patreon route for anyone who wants to help get this off the ground quicker. ah well. It will still launch either way.

To update: We have list off! You can now create lists, re-order them however you want and have ties/non-numeric entries. I'm also toying with the idea of community lists. Design not final etc.

I'm going to give out invite codes in the next few weeks so I can get feedback.

friend do you really believe human meat is any more different than pig meat is to chicken's???? there have been cases in which REAL HUMAN MEAT has been served to people and the people did not notice ! ! !
>>
Why is theatre so much more patrician than film
>>
>>63070946
It isn't
>>
>>63070946
Too expensive. They should just film everything and release it once they end so the elitists and the proletariat have equal chance at seeing the same art.
>>
>>63070696
Well yes anyone can taste the difference between pork and chicken. Also we don't get diseases from eating meat of a different species. Do you really think cannibals only eat humans because it "tastes good"? Poor sheltered child.

Not true.
In fact, a lot of sickness people attribute to "a virus floating around" is actually from consumption of some animal-based food. Also worth noting how due to the use of antibiotics on animals viruses learn to be more resistant to cures that could be used in humans quicker.
>do you really think cannibals only eat humans because it "tastes good"?

in the future i suggest you only participate in an argument when you have at least one single posture that you can defend instead of looking like a cripple eating leftovers ok

that's great that you tried veganism!
>i tried different diets but nothing has worked
meaning no matter what diet you've tried -weather it includes animal products or not- you still have deficiencies? then the problem isn't the diet, is it? i don't consume any supplements (not even b12) and i feel as good as ever.

doctors are known for being fairly ignorant when it comes to veganism and thus they usually oppose to it. i'm not a health-based vegan, so i can't tell you anything specific. it would be great if you give it another chance though... did you do research when you went vegan or just ate whatever you thought you should (which is fine, actually)? were legumes, fruits and vegetables covered (because you can be vegan and eat oreos all day)? are you athletic? how much time did you practice veganism?

any reason you consumed protein pills, by the way? you do know it's really easy to get them as a vegan right?

at least carol didn't win
what i hate about S&S's yearly polling is that they have no rules regarding date released. it's if you saw the movie this year then you can vote for it. meaning, films will end up on the list multiple times. Film comment does it much better where they have one list for movies that have distribution in america and one where the movies don't have distribution in america. the votes for a movie like cemetery of splendour and horse money are effectively split for sight and sound.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we surpassed the 1/3rd mark on our campaign; as I'm writing this, we've raised over $18,000. This is incredible for us.

To put things in perspective, we've raised more funds in the past three days than we received in subscription revenue for the entirety of 2014 and 2015 combined. With 33 days left in this campaign, we're feeling more and more confident about our chance of success.

I am extremely grateful for the amount of support we have received from everyone thus far, not only from the donations, but from the positive comments we've received via e-mail, in our forums, on Facebook and Twitter, and elsewhere on the web.

It has been almost fifteen years since the beginning of RYM. It began as a simple script for tracking my music collection that I wrote because I wanted to learn how to make web applications. That script eventually became RYM 1.0. I launched the site on Christmas Eve 2000, from a server that I won in a contest, which was hosted in the closet of my dorm room.

During RYM's first year of operation, there were less than fifty active users. I configured the server to play a sound every time someone signed up, and my friends and I were always excited to hear it bleep two or three times each day. Despite the initial lack of interest, I continued to spend hours per day working on the site, because I found it immensely satisfying, and because the early users were eager to contribute and give feedback.

After I graduated and got a job, I continued to operate RYM in my spare time. In 2006, I came up with the idea for a more modern version of the site with new features. Relaunching RYM while having a full-time job was complicated and exhausting; For three or four months, my daily schedule consisted of eight hours at my job, four hours working on RYM, and not much else. But I somehow managed to pull it off.
>>
>>63079727
The launch of RYM 2.0 was more successful than I could have imagined: over the course of a month, the site's traffic grew tenfold, from 20,000 page views per day to 200,000. Since then, RYM has gradually transitioned from a hobby to a part-time job, then to a full-time job, and now to a two-person development team.

Despite RYM's continued growth, I have always felt that we have been constrained by lack of resources. We have always had enough to support the site and to slowly move forward, but have never had enough to implement some of the major ideas I've had for years to make RYM a much better site.

I believe that this campaign, if a success, represents the first time in RYM's history that we will be able to move beyond that stage and start to truly fulfill our potential.

Many of my friends see me as someone who is knowledgeable about music. But what I've learned from RYM is that I know almost nothing. There are so many amazing contributors to RYM whose depth and breadth of knowledge is unfathomable to me. I have learned so much from RYM's users, moderators, and admins - they have contributed so much knowledge to our database and community. With Sonemic, Cinemos, and Glitchwave, we will be able to do so many more interesting and exciting things with that knowledge.

During the next week, we will post a couple of updates: one about stretch goals, and one about the second feature that will launch as part of the Project Manager perk. Thanks for reading, and for being part of this project.

Maybe you movie buffs can help me, I'm looking for the title of the movie that includes this scene :

It's a scene in which the camera moves forward in a long take, in what looks like a restaurant or a cafe, and the camera goes past (in a straight line) a number of couples and people sitting at tables, each time we're led to believe the camera will stop at the current couple/person, but it keeps going

If I remember correctly it was in black and white
